Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

This has truly reached cavfanatic proportions.

Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

Before the Stoudimire possibility pretty much everyone on this board thought Jamison was the guy to get (some folks wanted Murphy due to his shorter contract and similar numbers). James wanted him and he filled a need. Now, with more than 700 pages dedicated to Stoudimire everyone thinks of jamison as some sort of consulation prize. Jamison is a great addition. So is Murphy in my opinion. So lighten up everybody. Nothings gonna happen today unless the Heat come up with a way to take on JRich without totally destroying the future of their team. Moreover, even if the Heat figure out a way to take on JRich, I'll bet offers to do the same.

When the other option is Amare, Jamison is a consolation prize. Amare is a 27 year old first team all NBA caliber talent (07), Jamison is a 33 year old player who's biggest NBA honer has been 6th man of the year.

Amare makes a clear impact this year and is a long term core piece. Jamison also makes a clear impact this year but is at the age when players typically start their decline.

I'm not sure why anyone would prefer Jamison when Amare is an option. If anything, Amare is an easier transition as he's played with Shaq before and he excels at the very things we try to get JJ to do in our offense.

Mannix: Jamison may stay in WAS; WAS may end up as a buyer before trade deadline

Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

lol, don't know if it was posted before but Christopher Reina on RealGM writes that Corey Maggette helps us more than Amare.

That's the most ridiculous thing that I have heard in a long time. You could make the argument about Jamison, but this shows that you shouldn't trust anything from that source.

Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

I'm a little confused about why the Cavs wouldn't take on Richardson's contract if they had to. Make that totally confused.

Of course, that's alot of salary, but I thought the whole point of the Cavs getting better was that Gilbert was willing to pay whatever it took for LeBron to stay, even at least considering contracts like Elton Brand's.

Maybe we'd prefer not to take it on, but it would just seem weird that we'd push this hard for Amare Stoudemire, but if we had to take on a 28/29 year old mega-athletic SG with a gerat 3-point shot, capable of putting up upto 20ppg and with a large contract that expires after next season, suddenly that's not worth keeping LeBron happy and landing BY FAR the best player he would have ever played with in Amare?

Maybe there's something I'm missing there, I know J-Rich has had some issues off the court, still can't believe that story about him driving recklessly with his kid in the back.

But to not bring in Amare Stoudemire just because the guy coming with him has had a couple issues off the court seems crazy, and to be honest I don't believe it.

Jason Richardson was the Cavs' top trade target 2 years ago when we had issues at the 2 guard, and we still have similar issues. He would become our most talented SG, but he wouldn't have to start if they didn't want to risk chemistry.

I just don't believe Jason Richardson is a deal-breaker for the Cavs, not for a second. Maybe it's something to do with making the salaries match, and they found out the league wouldn't sign off on the trade if we used Wally for a certain amount. But otherwise, Jason Richardson would actually be a damn good pickup for us, and if we miss out on Amare Stoudemire because of this, I can't see LeBron being happy at all.

Do they have the space to become a buyer by tomorrow? I know they just got rid of some salary, but i dunno. Not quite sure if I buy this

Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

Looks like if Reilly and his hair gel can't scrape something together in the next 28+ hours, Amare is coming to Cleveland.

I hope Ferry has a back-up plan (J-Rich? Wally? ...) in case Miami is able to scrape something together close to the deadline.

Amare has already told friends he thinks tonight is his last game as a Suns player:

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/stoudemire-says-goodbye-in-phoenix.php

The same report has Stoudemire telling friends this is it, he has played his last game in Phoenix colors.

Amare seems gone from Phoenix, only question now appears to be can we continue to hold off Miami.

He will take minutes from Eddie House......

Re: Amar'e Safari: Officially The Greatest Thead in RCF HISTORY !

What if all this is a red herring to break JJ into full focus. THink about it. What if he is Lebrons project. Book that when we win the title. Shit you not. The King took time out this summer to work with him. Watching a promising preseason and some nice games go to the wayside only to return against the Lakers and Magic. What if the King wants to see him thru?

Or Lebron just built him up as trade bait, either or.

because it's alot of money. The Cavs are over the Lux tax already, so whatever he makes this year is doubled- same with next year. So while he may make $14,000,000 next year, it will cost the Cavs $28,000,000----- the Cap is going to be like $52,000,000.

thats alot of money

Ordinarily, I'd think this was a stupid comment... However, when WAS GM is involved, maybe not.:chuckles:
