LeBron Drops from 3rd fav player to 6th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I got word from someone close with Lebron that he's really had second thoughts, privately, about how everything rolled out, and even his decision to leave the team. The guy I talked to seemed to indeed express his opinion that he may eventually look to find his way back here at some point before his contract is even up in Miami. Just something I heard yesterday, actually...

He really doesn't believe that the final chapter has been written with him and the Cavaliers.

While I completely believe you and trust your source, I feel like these feelings LeBron is having will dissipate after success with the Heat along with continued hatred from Cleveland. After making a couple trips back to the Q he will no longer want to come back.

This thread now belongs to W&G.

Politicians, athletes, religious leaders have done some inexfriggincusible stuff and been forgiven because they apologize.

I, like everyone else am totally beside myself because of what ____ did to our city. That being said, if he actually demonstrated some humility... made a public apology and expressed his remorse....I would cheer for him again on my team. Why? Because I am human, I like winning and I am a big fan of redemption and forgiveness.

I have actually thought this was part of his plan all along...get his rings (take some damage to his rep) and come back as the hero in three years... sure it is narcissistic...yet so is he.

he's got an out in four years, he'll be 29 going on 30 and I would doubt it one bit that he wouldn't be playing in Cleveland at that time ...... question is would Cleveland actually take him back? I think they would

It's REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to bring this douchebag back, but we'll see in the next 5 years.

Ugh. I thought about it and I decided in the EXTREMELY UNLIKELY SCENARIO- ie this will never ever happen- but in the unlikely scenario that at age 29 or 30 James wants to come back to Cleveland and we have built a fine young core over the next 4 years to the point that James would put us over the top...

Yes. You have to do it. If this happened, and he thus gave us a championship, he could finally be forgiven. Only then. I told you I lost all respect for James after Game 5 and that the only way he could earn it back was by leading us to a title. Gilbert himself said "until James does us right..." so if I'm not mistaken, well, you know..

So yeah. I'd take him back, and still not respect the man one bit until he made right.

Honestly, I have NO CLUE how I'd take it if he wanted to come back. I really don't think it'll happen, but still, kinda funny to think about.

What if we just suck the next three years, and get two #1 overalls in that time. LBJ will be running back here faster than a booty call from Gloria to Delonte :chuckles:

It's like in The Notebook where the girl just couldn't marry the one guy with the nice car because she still loved her first love. So she ends up coming back and living happily-ever-after with the other guy.

Wait, what?

I have no idea what you're trying to say there. Too many double negatives going on in that sentence.

Wait, what?

You better have a good excuse for watching the Notebook.

I have a wife and I didn't even sit through that piece of...

Hopefully by the time Lebron thinks about coming here we have gotten our future star and our team is primed to be a contender like OKC is as of now and when Lebron even mentions wanting to come back Dan Gilbert comes out with another letter that makes Lebron shit himself.

But honestly I'd still take him back.:hide:

I'd take him back, and I think after some internal debating Dan Gilbert would too. The benefits both on and off the court are too much to refuse. But he sure as heck wouldn't be my favorite player.
