LeBron Drops from 3rd fav player to 6th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have no doubt the guy is regretting things. Mostly regretting "the how" he left though. I'm also sure he now feels bad for what he did to the fans. But I'm also sure he didn't realize the backlash beforehand and the bad rap he's getting across the country.

But gosh golly; what did he expect after coming to his decision during the last morning and ONLY after his Mommy okay'd things. :dunno:

yeah right

Magic came out today and said basically the same things Jordan did. It probably hits him hard to hear the greats of the past ALL SAY they would have never done it.

The guy isn't even a kid. He's a child who was never taught right from wrong, and never had anyone to get into his face. He was allowed to do as he pleased. Too damn bad. This experience might force him to grow up now.

I want Miami to go 42-42 with tons of dissension and bickering.

I got word from someone close with Lebron that he's really had second thoughts, privately, about how everything rolled out, and even his decision to leave the team. The guy I talked to seemed to indeed express his opinion that he may eventually look to find his way back here at some point before his contract is even up in Miami. Just something I heard yesterday, actually...

He really doesn't believe that the final chapter has been written with him and the Cavaliers.

I believe 100% that he's really had second thoughts about how things rolled out. How could he not? Universally, "The Decision" has been labeled the worst exit strategy in the history of exit strategies. That said, there's 0% chance that he regrets his "decision" at this point and is contemplating a return before his contract is up in Miami. He is as pissed at Gilbert as Gilbert is pissed at him....he is nuclear over Gilbert's email. I'm calling complete bullshit on this one. Not saying W&G didn't hear it, I'm sure he did. I just don't believe that those are Lebron's actual feelings.

$1000 says it originated with Rich Paul and this farce is now working it's way around. Rich is stuck back here and feels like a heel....especially since he got stuck with the shit job of calling the Cavs to tell them they were moments away from getting screwed on national TV. I could see him now telling people "don't worry, he's coming back!". To a big extent, Rich got played like the rest of us, but that's a story for another day. IF it did start with Lebron, it is nothing more than contrived damage control by he and Mav. Knowing full well that 99% of the people back here hate them, leak the idea that he is having second thoughts and will be back to finish the job. A lame effort to win a few suckers back over.

I'm sure W&G heard this, I'm just not buying what LRMR is selling. Don't get played again, Cav's fans.

I knew after he left that it would not work. Had he landed some place with just Bosh he would have probably been ok. I'm sure he is getting a bit sick of photo shoots with wade standing in front of him, and hearing people say that it will always be wades team.

I think that maybe he is thinking his "team" played him a bit.

I will take comfort in watching Wade hold up his mvp award.

This is what I needed to hear. Fuck this douchebag. He played his fans, his hometown, and people he was very close to once. I'll never give him the chance to do it again.

After reading W&G's post my mind started racing through scenarios in which I would or would not want him back...truth is he'd never come back. Is he trying to give us hope for the future thus lessening the hate? Maybe. Well, fuck that.

Yup, pretty much everything I figured as well. It's cute to think about, but in the end...can't let ourselves get played again. Fuck this cat.

Hello, I'm a huge Laker fan, been shadowing this site for months, following the drama...

I know how much you guys respect Wine and Gold, and I'm not an insider, so I certainly don't have any information to refute his suggestion. But Lebron's aggressive recruting behavior since landing in Miami, not to mention his few public comments on Cleveland and the Cav ownership, do not suggest remorse.

I'm sure the dude regrets the way he announced his decision -- the public backlash was tremendous. He may even be steaming in private about the way he's been recast as just one of the 3 Amigos, with Wade as the Ringleader (loved that SI Cover). But he's Miami's problem now. Besides, he signed a 6 year contract, and I haven't heard anything about an opt out clause. Without the clause, he has no leverage to force his way back to Cleveland.

Good luck, here's hoping you get that ring before the so-called King...

It seems that outside of LBJ himself and Maverick Carter(and maybe Savannah but honestly no clue about her role in any of this situation), that entire inner circle got played to some extent.

I think a lot of them really thought he was coming back to Cleveland, some probably felt betrayed. But like we saw with some of their responses after Gilberts' letter, they still have no intentions of letting go of their meal ticket.

Ugh. I thought about it and I decided in the EXTREMELY UNLIKELY SCENARIO- ie this will never ever happen- but in the unlikely scenario that at age 29 or 30 James wants to come back to Cleveland and we have built a fine young core over the next 4 years to the point that James would put us over the top...

Yes. You have to do it. If this happened, and he thus gave us a championship, he could finally be forgiven. Only then. I told you I lost all respect for James after Game 5 and that the only way he could earn it back was by leading us to a title. Gilbert himself said "until James does us right..." so if I'm not mistaken, well, you know..

So yeah. I'd take him back, and still not respect the man one bit until he made right.

Hopefully by the time Lebron thinks about coming here we have gotten our future star and our team is primed to be a contender like OKC is as of now and when Lebron even mentions wanting to come back Dan Gilbert comes out with another letter that makes Lebron shit himself.

But honestly I'd still take him back.:hide:

I like you both as posters, but don't be whores to #6's hype machine yet again. As usual, I think Max nailed it. That's all this is: hype and damage control put out by he and his 'team'. After what #6 has done to this franchise in the last 2 weeks (let alone 7 years), the last thing I'd want is him to be on a team I root for.

The only way I'd ever consider it is if #6 grabbed Doc Brown, Marty McFly, and the Delorean, went back in time to the 2003 Draft, and fixed every fucking thing he fucked this franchise on. FUCK HIM and fuck his 'team'

Glad to see your rational side came to the forefront

I have no doubt he has had second thoughts about leaving, or rather how he left.

However if he truly doesn't believe the Cavaliers book is close forever, then he is a moron of epic proportions. This is even dumber than him thinking "hate is hate" and that eventually Cavaliers fans will "calm down and accept him back."

LeBron lives in a fantasy world where his actions have no consequences. As soon as he comes back to Cleveland/Akron in a public sense, he'll see exactly what he has done.

Did you read my post carefully? I mean, I put about every qualifier in there that I could, specifically saying there is NO WAY this would EVER happen. Purely hypothetical. I would take him back in that situation, and not respect him at all until he gave us a title. I'm all about winning. If James came here at age 30, apologized profusely, and then proceeded to bring us a title, yes I would take it.

That'd never happen, so it's moot anyways, and the guy is probably not regretting this shit at all. So...renders the whole discussion moot as well.

I think he is really regretting the fact that he will not be a billionaire.

lol this :D

if you see the way he seemed while getting his mvp award, he did not seem aunthentic to me at ALL. i will call him LeBitc* from now on

Actually, I believe this. Why? Because, as a human being, we have second thoughts about EVERYTHING. Despite what LeBron has put Cavs fans through the last few weeks, he is still (as far as we know) human.

I'm sure he's had second thoughts about leaving the same way I had second thoughts about getting Taco Bell at 4 in the morning. Sure it might taste delicious in my drunken state, but it will definitely mess my stomach up the following day.

My point is, he probably has had second thoughts, but having second thoughts doesn't mean he regrets.
