2024 NBA Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also Michael Porter Jr is just not a guy I want on my team making 40 million a year. He's the guy who will hold them back long term from having a dominant run.
As you said earlier, and ive been screaming it myself, Bruce Brown is sorely missed.

Dude just made big plays and hit big shots. Good defender. Winning player. Braun is winning type player but nowhere near the impact of BB.

The whole "never trade a dollar for 4 quarters" thing gets used a lot.

Well, Porter is exactly the type of player you do that with if you can.

I'm positive they'd be better if they could turn his 40 million into 2 guys worth 20 million.

Minnesota matches up very well with Denver and seem to be deeper ; Denver really struggled against the Lakers

Agreed. His loss really weakened their bench

One could make an argument that these are the two best teams in the league.

Shout out to Mike Conley too. Hit some big 3s tonight.

Yea all of the role players for Minnesota showed up in that 2nd half.

I expect Murray and Gordon to have bigger games than tonight, but it's the depth that I think Denver can't match. Naz Reid is the best player off the bench on either team. Unfortunately for Denver, the next best player off the bench also plays for Minnesota. And so is the next best player....

Murray is gonna have to go insane this series. Jokic is gonna be tired as fuck trying to score on Gobert all series.

I think Denver is gonna have to see if DeAndre Jordan can give them something this series.

Overall big picture though on the NBA: I don't think we'll ever see any more dynasties with the rules in place as is.

You are penalized so hard for being a tax-paying team now. Not just the money owed, but the difference between the taxpayer MLE and the non-taxpayer MLE is so gigantic it's gonna be hard for Denver to ever find a guy like the one they lost last season off the bench.

Minnesota has the far deeper team because Anthony Edwards isn't yet making max money. Once that happens, they'll find it difficult to put a bench together this good again.

To be fair I'm not sure MPJ is a dollar. More like a 50 cent coin someone tried to paper mache into a silver dollar

Yea. The Wolves can throw Gobert/Kat/Reid at Jokic and Ant/Mcdaniels/Alexander at Murray. I can't see Murray going nuclear on these defenders.

Its like they're made to beat the Nuggets. Also Ant might be the best player in this series when its said and done.

I think you could find teams, desperate teams, who would trade multiple rotation guys for Porter. They'd tell themselves he's the missing piece as the big wing and shooter, he's young, he fits the timeline, and he can be a star.

For instance, THIS team could be one of those teams.

Max Strus and Jarrett Allen for Porter. Move Mobley to C.

Yea, I could see a universe where Altman convinces himself that's the move that saves the Cavs.

But if not him (and probably not in reality) another team with a deal along those lines.

Miami comes to mind. Herro and Rozier. And that's a deal I'd take in two seconds if I were Denver. An overpaid 50 cent piece for 2 quarters also overpaid.

Also Rudy was playing with a bad back last year vs the Nuggets in the postseason.

He wasn't able to block those passes to Gordon like he did tonight. Jokic slamming into you with a bad back probably didn't feel that great last year.

Connelly looked like a clown last year but now it's like he foresaw that once Murray came back Denver was going to be the team beat and got Gobert for that sole purpose.

If this was Towns at C this series is an easy one for Denver. Jokic would just roll over him.
