I went back thru the Shapiro years to see what kind of SP reclamation success he had.

Here is a list of many of those projects.

Jason Phillips
Jason Bere
Scott Elarton
Joe Dawley
Jason Johnson
Matt Ginter
Bryan Bullington
Carl Pavano
Justin Germano
Derek Lowe
Brett Myers
Shaun Marcum
Bruce Chen
Jeff Damico

The only one of those that could possibly be construed as a success is Elarton, who did have a so so one+ years here.

Pavano and Lowe gave us 21 crummy starts each, before we dumped them.

I dont think that Millwood and Kazmir can be considered reclamation projects. They were both here on short term contracts in order to rebuild value after injuries.

If Lively continues to be productive over a long stretch, he will be the first such success story for Cleveland in this millenium.

I think you aren't including Maton and Manship...

Cleveland has helped a lot of pitchers...

Maton and Manship weren't starters.

Cleveland did have success with developing Maton, who had his best run here.

Manship was a freakish situation. A nomadic, nondescript reliever and spot start who never had much success, we signed him when he was 30. Suddenly, for one season he was lights out. The next year, he returned to what he was...and then was out of MLB. He spent one year in Korea as a starter, but that was it.

Rocchio makes sense in the short term at least.

Without Kwan available, Rocchio has the fourth highest OBP on the team...and has been very good at getting on base lately. (.368 OBP this month.) He also leads the team in SBs. Ride him while he is hot.

As for Fry, he has hit so well for so long that its time to give him some run with regular at bats.
