9-year-old boy told he’s too good to pitch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just move him up a league. Done.

Well now the rest of the story is coming out... Anyone's opinion change after reading this?

He was brought in mid season from an all-star team as a ringer along with another player from the all-star pony league to pitch against a league dominated by 8-10 year old girls. The league attempted to move him up a level and his parents went crazier then a shit house rat.

No, because the whole thing started after one guy that helps run the league didn't get the kid on his team so he cried wolf.

Depends on the league. Sounds like some travel club level player trying to crash a coed rec league for beginners. He needs to play on a more competitive "tournament" level league.

Parents with kids in youth sports are some of the worst people alive. I used to ref youth soccer, and those parents were assholes. It's not like I was paid well -- I mostly did it for the fun of it. These people need to put down their lattes and get a life outside of their kids activities. WOW -- this is the stupidest thing I've ever read. There are so many easy solutions to this thing, but if he only pitches every couple games then there's no reason to do anything about it. Losing teaches children valueable lessons -- as much as hard work and team play does.

I imagine this could've been settled before the season ever began had the person in charge of the league not been some 40-something has-been who takes his job too seriously...like every other little league in the world -- there's probably some asshole with an over-inflated sense of self-worth getting everyone else too worked-up about nothing.

EDIT: I just read the rest of the story in another article, and it seems that this kids parents wanted him to dominate a lesser league on purpose -- he was brought in during the middle of the season because he was not so effective in a leagues that was composed of players closer to his talent level.

Carefull how you label a whole group of people based on the actions of a few. As a father of 4 who has coached not even 90% of the parents are this ignorant. Yes there are bad parents and yes we all hate that group, but the majority of parents are very down to earth realistic people.

You are certainly right, but I guarantee the number of parents who act poorly at sporting events is greater than 10% -- and as a father myself -- I've attended enough of those events as both a spectator and a participant myself (as a ref) to know that the label I used is relatively accurate.
