ok so now that maggs and brand are gone from LA, baron davis may have a change of heart about signing with them. He may do one of two things, opt not to sign with the clippers, and test the market, or he maysign with them and immidiatly demand a trade, and that could open the door for us.....

Plus, as another poster has been speculating, Ferry may have something huge up his sleeve being that Delonte is still not close to signing because they have to know what baron is signing for to make the salaries match up.

Here's my idea: baron sign and trade to us, we send delonte there via sign and trade, and we also send them AV, or wally or sasha, or possibly a combination.

just a thought...

He is not unhappy, he is returning home and getting paid. Championship is just a smoke screen. Championships matter more to the fans than most of the players.

Unfortunately in most cases that is probably true. Just like in any career you are going to have those that are in it to make financial gains and those that are in it to fulfill a personal accomplishment. Then you have those that want to do both. In Lebrons case, he clearly wants to achieve the accolades whilst making the big bucks and he will probably be the type of guy that can do both. If you are not a max type deal player then the market will likely dictate where you end up. If the MLE is all that the teams have then that is what you are gonna get. Guys like Elton and probably Josh Smith will get lucky in that there were a few teams with the cap space to make it happen. I don't see Davis taking less than half the salary to join a team like ours. That kind of move never makes sense financially and I don't think he is to the point in his career yet where he has to make concessions.

If the Clips throw their money remaining at Josh Smith, and some how snag him, BDiddy will have two of the most athletic players to throw to in the league in Smoov and Thornton. That won't make them contenders, But a fivesome of Baron, EGordon, Thornton, Smoov and kaman is at least exciting.

Getting LAC noticed in the L.A. area and gaining more exposure in the Hollywood world seem to be Baron's intentions. He owns a a production company with his HS buddy Cash Warren, and Baron has begun producing some smaller films.....there is no way he is coming to Cleveland.

Hey split, lets take you for example. If you could come to cleveland cut an album, know you will sell 3 million, but you are not in love with the music would you do it? Or are you going to hold to your guns as an "artist"?

Perfect example from 2 1/2 men when allen is faced with sleeping with a 60 year old woman for his own personal financial gain:

Charlie: So you would sleep with her for free if she was young and beautiful.

Allen: Yeah of course.

Charlie: And you would stick you dick in a bee hive for say around 100 million dollars.

Allen: Um, Yeah, probably so, but whats the point of this.

Charlie: We have established you are a man whore, now we just have to narrow in on your price.

Basically we are all man whores imo, we just have different prices. And, faced with reality of millions, the price isnt as high as most of us think. :chuckles:
