Guy seriously underestimated his value here. I guess that it's always better to take the money now, but I think with another good performance both him and Diaw would have been *the* free agents next year. Just seems silly to sign a MLE type deal when you could possibly get more next year. I'd say he's better than an "average" player.

Well, I think most teams are weary of paying him that much, because of the Phoenix type system that he is in... Sure he could be a good player outside of it, but I have my doubts as well...

Diaw was considered a throw-in, in the Joe Johnson deal.. Now he is one of the Suns' untouchables, and best players.. Coincedence? I doubt it..

Look at Raja Bell... Before he signed for the MLE, last summer, he was considered an average player... People where scratching their heads, why in the world the Suns would give him that much money.. Now look at him.. He is considered the heart of that team, and one of the best defensive wing players in the league... Coincedence? I doubt it.

What about Quentin Richardson? In Phoenix, he was considered an above-average player who is very good on both sides of the ball... In NYK, he had a hard time getting on the court (both his back and his play)... Now he is considered another overpaid player on the Knicks roster... Coincedence? I doubt it..

My point is that players in the Phoenix system are valued a lot more than they are thorought the NBA.. Now, that isn't true for all the players, but for some it is... In order to be successful, they need to be in the Phoenix offense... And sadly, I think Barbosa may be one of them... I just don't know if he can ever adjust to an half-court game.. I'd also be worried, if he could be anything more than an average defensive player..

All in all, no doubt that Barbosa is an talented player and has tons of potential... But I just don't think you players after playing in the Phoenix system, will be the player that you thought they would be... And I think this might be the case for Barbosa.. I also believe that Barbosa is one of those guys, who needs the system, than the system needs him..

I didn't really want him anyways..

Yeah I wouldn't be too interested in him anyways. He really wouldn't fit our PG needs he's more of a SG in a PG's body. But that worked out well for PHX. Your right about the system in place in PHX Smooth.

Nah, you're better off with Eric Snow and Damon Jones. [he laughs]

Da Knee Fer E...wat yu gon du?
