Every time John Madden mentions the name Brett Favre, the guy has to be creaming his shorts, he starts to moan...He has to have wet dreams about the guy..

Brett Favre was good, but does anyone else think he's one of the most overrated of all time ??? Maybe that's not the best way to put it, but I don't think he's that great... He's good, but not the way they talk him up...

I enjoy watching the guy play and all, but he's nowhere near my top 5 list of all time... What's the deal with him being a "living legend"

He's a gunslinger... For some reason, they act like that's incredible..

He's played a bunch of games in a row... SO

He's basically an older Charlie Frye with some Sensadine commercials under his belt...Reggie White WAS the team..

Get serious....Favre was an incredible QB. Back to back to back MVPs, but Reggie White was that team? Come on now..

He's the best QB I've ever seen play the game.

I'll give it to him he was solid but he's been on the downside the last few years and I'm still pissed about the Browns muff of a season..

I met Reggie White so I'm biased..

I just don't see it.. Don't get me wrong, I know the man is good... But, out of all the main QB's I've seen, I would still take the following over Favre any day:

Elway
Marino
Montana
Young
Brady
Manning

I'd probably take Favre over Aikman though.. And on a side note: If he would have had some help, and a good coach, Randall Cunningham could have been right up in there as well... He was pretty damn good in the late 80's early 90's. but played on some junk teams with nothing around him... When he got some weapons around him like he did with the Vikes in '98, he was dominant..

He's good... But Madden makes out like he's the best football player/QB he's ever seen.. And the guy isn't even close..

Elway-2 Rings
Marino- 0 RINGS
Montana- 3 Rings
Young- 2 Rings I believe
Brady- 3 Rings
Manning 0 Rings
Favre- 1 Ring

Brady i think will go down as one of the best, but those guys, seeing as how young he still is, he will probably have 1 more Super Bowl by the time he retires. are all the cream of the crop when it comes to QBs Marino was good, but he never took the team to the next level like Brady and the rest did, and not having Staubach and Unitas in there is crazy.

I'm going by guys I've seen..

And actually, I think Marino was great... He never had anything around him though, and still put up crazy numbers.. He had Running backs like Karim Abdul-Jabbar, and John Avery... He had no backs, and no Receivers that were ever worth a damn..

Even though Peyton will probably break his records, which accounts for alot, Peyton had way more to work with than Dan... Dan never had anything close to a Marvin Harrison or Edge James..

you say that as though that trio of players won anything except some tickets to go play in Hawaii, if Manning couldnt beat us to get to the Super Bowl with them, there is no way he could do it with anyone else.

That's fine.. I'm not proclaming Peyton to be the best of all time or anything, but he is on the list... However, if he gets one SB championship, he has to pass Favre up, and might just jump a couple other guys as well..

Tom Brady should be the gold standard of today's QB though... He puts up consistent numbers, and wins with a less than impressive roster... He's the "epitome" of a leader, and is about as cold blooded as it gets when the pressure is on..

Brett Favre has been seriously overrated for a long time. He had several very good years in his prime. You're still looking at a guy that got a free pass for throwing so many interceptions over the course of his career.

And I think Madden has a hard on for Favre, it's actually way too annoying to watch a Madden called GB game.

No doubt he is past his prime, I agree with that. I never really watched Marino or Elway in their primes, so I cant really judge them. Steve Young was good, but Jerry Rice was the guy he was passing too.

Manning is a helluva QB as well so for me, it's Favre vs Manning. I dont believe the Brady hype....there is just something about that team and him that really just bugs me.

Only 3 time NFL MVP for a reason... BTW, wouldn't it be nice if some of our Cavaliers had the same kind of heart as Favre?

Is he a legend? Yes.

I loved watching Favre play but he has never been the smartest QB out there. You have to admire his heart and his toughness. But 273 career INT's... yikes.

The guy was fun to watch but I'm not sure anyone can say he's one of the best ever.
