Going into tonight Brevin leads the league in steals at 2.46, assists to turnover ratio at 3.9 and is 3rd in assists at 8.5. I need not remind you that he plays for Charlotte.

I say he's the one. Get it done Danny.

i dunno man....he is a very good player i just dont know how he would fit on this team

It would be nice to get Brevin, but I think he isnt going anywhere.

I agree with you Mac, I don't think he'll wear any other jersey this year. I had a few old games on the PVR and was bored last night so I watched some minutes from each. IMO, he is the perfect PG for this team because of the stats mentioned above and the fact that he is a threat to dribble drive. I decided to look up his stats afterward and am certainly impressed.

To me this puts the Marbury, etc talk in perspective as Brevin is the anti-Stephan and what this team really needs.

p.s. No need to further mention Marbury as he was just an example. :)

I don't think he would be a good fit on this team. He's 30 years old now (we already have two PG's who are over 30), he can't shoot from beyond the arc, and I don't think it would be worth it to trade someone on our team for him.

If we're going to get a PG we want him to be relatively young so he can grow into our core and be here for the long run.
The perfect fit for PG on our team would be Jason Terry. He's 27 I think, and he can knock down the three and drive to the rim like no other. He's a shoot first PG which is what we need. We have two great distributers in LeBron and Hughes.

This makes me wonder...
Would a trade of Gooden and Snow/Jones (one or the other)
for Jason Terry work?

we need a pg that can hit an open shot, thats for sure. I'd take Terry, I'd like to watch him play a little bit more though get a better feel for his game. I know he can shoot but if he can get to the rim and play defense I'm all for it.

Gooden really has no spot on Dallas' roster except off the bench.

so I couldn't see that working. To get terry, we'd have to wait until the offseason I believe.

I agree. I think we would have to wait until the offseason because Dallas wouldn't want to mess up their chances this season at winning the title.

Drew probably would come up their bench but he would give Dallas a solid backup behind Dirk. And when they play some of those smaller teams in the West (phoenix, seattle) they could go with Drew and Dirk in the starting lineup.

Jason Terry is a decent defender. Over his career he's averaging about 1.5 steals per game. He's quick, so he can stay with some of the faster PG's.

I watched the Mavs destroy the Heat last night and Jason Terry tore it up. He only played 29 minutes because the game got ugly quick. He had 16 pts on 4-5 shooting from 3pt. range, and 6-10 overall. He also had 7 assist and zero turnovers in the game. In just 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter Terry scored 11 pts going 3-3 beyond the arc.

If we could trade on of our non-PG PGs (Jones esp.),I'd do it. We really need a real PG.
