Bucks @ Trojans

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The QB situation reminds me a lot of Tressell blindly playing that dumb ass from Orrville when he had Troy Smith on the bench. As soon as he unleashed Troy, the team played better. It reminds me a bit of Romeo and rookies....he just won't play them. Whatever, see you next year.

Tressell disappointed big time in this one...

We absolutely got our doors blown off, it wasn't even close.

Pryor should have been in that game from the get go, Boekman is a garbage QB

Why were we throwing 3 yard passing routes and running draws up the gut all game?

Tressell was awful in this game...as was our entire team.

Inexcuseable anyway you stretch it.

We're the best of the Big 10 which at this point is like being the fastest guy on crutches.

Terrible.

As like everyone else Im putting this on Tressel. I think it was pretty clear we had the talent to go toe to toe with these guys, but the playcalling and the execution was horrible. This conservative BS has got to go and we've got to be allowed to let the guys who have the ability play to their strengths.

If it's 3rd and 11, you ARE allowed to throw the ball, and no not just screens. If its the opening drive of the game, you ARE allowed to throw the ball instead of running sneaks or handoffs the whole time. If Pryor is in (which he should be from now on), you ARE allowed to call actual passing plays instead of relying on him to run every down.

This conservative play calling was pretty awesome and all when Tressel first came in and we executed everything near perfectly and other teams didnt know how to gameplan for us, but those days are long gone. For whatever reason the players cant focus as well as 4 years ago, and the rest of the nation already knows our tendencies. If I can sit with my friends and pretty much script every single play we are going to run, you dont think other teams defensive coordinators can do the same thing??? This style is old and outdated and needs to be tweaked majorly.

Take some chances Jimmy... so what if bad things happen, it cant be any worse than what we've been seeing out of these guys recently.

That game we lost to Texas rings the bell, and it was sorry ass Justin Zwick who transfered from Orrville to Massillon and got super hyped before getting a free degree.

Im still down with the vest, but he has to play the best players.

I think it was Mark May that said it best, when he said "You're not going to win a big game like this against these types of athletes while playing 'Tressel Ball'... You've got to be able to have a vertical game, and not settle for FG's instead of worrying about time of possession and using the punt as your main weapon" :chuckles:

There is something to be said for that PIP

Your boys, as well as UF and LSU picked up steam when their coaches showed a willingness to take shots down field. It seems that our OLine even got deflated from that second drive where Tressell showed he left his BuckNuts in Ohio trying to run up the middle back to back in the red zone. After that drive the OLine checked out.

Same thing for that first title game against UF. Ginn took the first play to the house, and then we came back our next posession and tried ball control.

USC 35
OSU 14

USC should be able to outclass these guys easily IMO... I hope I'm wrong though, because I can barely stand living with a lady Trojan when she kills me every year... Beating OSU would mean I'm subject to another verbal onslaught before I take my beating on December 6th...
I gave the Buckeyes offense too much credit...

But I gauged that Trojan offense quite well...:chuckles:

As somebody who is paying Tressell and Co's gigantic salaries, I'm getting quite sick of this humiliation on a national stage.

Another big game where JT brings in an unprepared and overconfident team that looks lethargic when the ball goes up.

Another letdown by the supposed best defense in college football.

2006 Michigan - 39
2007 UF - 41
2008 LSU - 38
2008 USC - 35

How Heacock can be employed for much longer I dunno....

Another conservative game of playcalling with zero halftime adjustments.

JT is a great recruiter but every big game that passes I feel he's vastly overrated as an in-game coach.

2002 was six years ago. This man and his coaching staff (highest paid in college football) need to look in the mirror, they are on the hot seat.

Is there any way we can keep this guy around to beat Michigan and recruit?

I hate boekman. He is just terrible. Tressel is a good coach, but he should have played TP more. Not having BW in there was a blow, and some balls/calls didn't go our way, but WOW, after that first FG our offense just disappeared. Our D got shredded too. That was just sad.

Not one down-field ball the entire game.

OSU should be grateful they didn't fall further.

I've seen high school QB's make better reads, decisions, and throws than Boeckman in that game. He looked scared out there. NOT ACCEPTABLE!
