1st trade:

cavs out: wally, wright
cavs in: Salmons, Kenny thomas

why for cavs, gets a starting 2 gaurd who is a GREAT defender and can run. would be a perfect fit. we have to take on kenny thomas BUT he expires in '10, so it wont affect that at all. hes basically lorenzen wright with a bigger contract. salmons is also locked into a GREAT contract, even though it runs threw '10 (only 5mil a year)

why for sac: they are overloaded with SG/SF's and need to free rrom for garcia/greene. they also get rid of kenny thomas's contract and get 2 expirings. salmons also takes up there cap space in '10 that there aiming for.

2nd trade:

cavs out: snow, 1st
cavs in: Wilcox, 2nd

okc out: wilcox, 2nd
okc in: snow 1st.

why for cavs: get the perfect PF for our system and a 2nd round pick. wilcox, like snow, is also an expring and i think he puts us over the top.

why for okc: wilcox is not there plans for the future and it free's up room for green and collison downlow. they also save money when snows retires. they also swap there 2nd for our 1st which is big for them, and snow is a GREAT mentor for there rookie, wetbrooke.

cavs final roster:

Mo Will/ Delonte
Salmons/Boobie/Kinsley
Lebron/Kinsley/Williams
Wilcox/Big Ben/JJ hickson/Darnel Jackson
Big Z/ AV/ Kenny thomas

thoughts?

thanks

When I see the name Kenny Thomas in a trade scenario, I curl up in the fetal position, hug my knees, and rock myself until the memories go away.

Very nice Keys. I to want to cut myself after hearing this diea.

i guess worrying about what a scrub makes is more important then winning a championship. you guys know it has to be fair for both teams right?

No way they pay wilcox's contract plus 14 million which is how much snow will save us

First trade is plausable. And I would consider it. Would make us even more thin up front as Wright is a backup center, and Thomas barely is big enough to play pf. In essence its like taking Wallys contract and spreading it out over 2 years (thomas) and picking up salmons for the mle for 3 years. Only negative we have thomas for one more year after this one, but he might be tradeable as an expiring next year and we might find wallaces too big to get rid of or bring us back to much junk. Salmons is the perfect player for our sg position though. I would do it if Wright was not included, and i am not sure he sweetens the pot for sacramento anyways.

Like i said before, 2nd won costs to much money for an average player.

i think we can get much more value for wally.....salmons btw is not someone i would trade for & he can't shoot the 3ball....chris wilcoz i wouldn't trade b/c he sucks & all he does his highlight dunks

The first one is something I see worth being looked at. Over the past few weeks I labeled Salmons as untouchable basically because he's very talented and I orginally thought he was young but the dude's 29 years old. He can play SG/SF, but they have a franchise player in K-Mart at SG, a 26 year old who just signed a semi-huge $30mil/5 yr contract so no way is he not getting time. Also they traded away their best player from recent years Ron Artest for Donte Green who's a very talented rookie.

So the G/F rotation is like this basicallly since PG is totally to Udrih/Jackson:

SG-K-Mart, Garcia, Douby
SF-Salmons, Greene

Since Douby's a young player they like, Garcia just got a huge contract, and Greene was the main asset in the Artest trade, I think Salmons could be out on the block. Esp. cause he's 29 years old and now very young like I thought last year. It'd be kind of disappointing using up Wally's expiring on him though.

Sorry, guys. Saacramento plans to make the offense go through Salmons. Coach Theus was moderately sucessful runnin ght offense through Salmons last year when Artest was out, and it made Artest expendable this offseason. Remember, they have no true point guards... Beno and Garcia cannot run an offense without Salmons being a poor man's LBJ out there.

Additionally, the Cavs made it clear they do not want Thomas's contract... not even for a legit starting guard in return. They have a three year plan, and another long crappy contract screws up those plans. They also made it clear that first round picks are not throw ins under Ferry... we all saw how well that worked with Paxson. I think the plan has already been establish by every media outlet what we want to do with Snow's contract.

These fantasy trades are pointless unless you include certain realities. This thread includes very little reality.

The first trade is interesting because if we do this mid way through the season, then Thomas's contract only has 1 1/2 years to go, not as handcuffing as when we were discussing trading for bibby a year + ago. But because of the fact there is only 1 1/2 years to go, it makes it less likely to me since sacramento isnt as desperate to get rid of his contract that they trade away a starter for wally.

I'd love to acquire Wilcox, I think he'd be a good acquision for the Cavs. I'd leave the first deal alone though.
