Just want to know what you guys think of this idea.....and I can't believe I'm actually saying this. Assuming Reghi is right and Z and Drew play tonight (or at least one of them), what about starting Newble in place of Jones tonight?

This keeps LeBron off 'Melo and Jones is probably more comportable coming off the bench with Donyell like earlier in the season. Jones, even though the percentages sucked, looked like he was slowly coming out of it. What do you guys think? I thought I'd never want to hear the words "start Newble" without the word "packing" after it again.

I heard Ira is starting tonight.

LeBron did just fine guarding Carmelo last time we played them.

They've been saying Ira will start all afternoon.....

Ira has stunk it up offensively since returning so this may be his chance to start again. If he just keeps on hustling on defense, and moves off the ball on offense I will be happy. Last season he did start to get some rythym going, so the fact he is starting may renew lost self confidense.

Ira has been terrible since he came back. His D hasn't even been that great. Maybe this is just being done to shake things up a little. I think I might even prefer that either Luke or Sasha get a shot to start instead of Newble considering how poorly he's been playing. I think Windhorst in a story today wrote that Newble has made 1 of his last 20 shots and something like 5 of 29 since he came back.
The idea of the Snow/Newble backcourt returning doesn't sound great to me. LeBron and Z should get constantly doubleteamed.

Narl this may open up time for Sasha and/or Luke. If Jones is used primarily as Snow's backup, then minutes may open up behind Newble who is unlikely to receive big minutes. This though may change if Wilks is used though. I'd prefer Sasha or Luke to play ahead of Wilks at this point, especially if Ira is starting.

It looks like Damon Jones is starting according to Yahoo. Take what you want from that site!

Well now its states Ira is starting over Jones. LOL

As pathetic as Newble has played, I prefer him starting over Damon Jones. Damon has at least been partially effective from the bench.

I am still calling for Sasha Pavlovic to be given more time. Hopefully the Denver game is a springboard for this.
