Cle - Sac Revisited...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't really understand why the Kings would make that trade. Gerald can play, but does he make them a playoff team? Hell no, so they just add more salary and will continue to be bad. That's a gm asking to be fired in the future. What a moron if he makes that trade.

Gerald Wallace would be a long term piece for them, they aren't looking for deals that put them over the top. Having Wallace at the 3/4 along with young guys like Garcia and Hawes could be a good step towards creating a young/talented core.

And Salmons isn't just shooting at a high percentage because he's on a bad team. The worse the team, the easier it is to keep everyone covered. Therefore, a lone threat like Salmons should be easier to handle, but he's maintaining a high FG and 3P percentage.

His numbers would certainly go down here, but I doubt Delonte could throw 20 a night with the Kings, since he never shined like Salmons has on a team like Seattle. Plus, Salmons is bigger than Delonte and is a good defender. I don't know how adding him would hurt us, even if he is over-rated. And look at his contract, what he is doing for the Kings is worth more than that.

A very late first rounder and Kaun (in this scenario) along with Wally (who might return) is certainly worth it IMO.

Mikki Moore is just depth as we saw would be necessary in that short run without Z. His contract expires in 2010 as far as I know, so he doesn't hurt our cap either.

I think Salmons avg. what he is now last year when he started. He did pretty well when Martin, Garcia and Artest were out. Just saying how he put these type of number up before. Idk if I really want him, but he is an option

Folks, calm down. Why so itchy for a trade? We have plenty of offense. Center's don't grow on trees. I wanted Eddie Curry when I was worried about the offensive production on this team, especially the post. I still have concerns for that. I didn't think this team was nearly going to be this good. If you think we can sign a quality big with a crappy mle, you'll be disappointed.

Cavs better draft a center in the first round. They better hope they find something decent. Z has at least 2 good years left. They don't need anything for this, or next year. Hopefully whoever we draft, can be ready to play big minutes in 2 years. When Z is ready to retire, they better have someone ready to step in.

I wouldn't do this trade. I don't like Mikki Moore's game, he's pointless. Salmons isn't a bad player, I never said that. I just fail to see where he puts us on top.

The trade would not make the cavs any better than what they are now. I don't see any point in doing it. That's just me, though. Salmons has NEVER averaged over 10 a game outside his two years on a crappy team.

It's because he is on a stacked Philadelphia team. The Kings team always find gems in a rough patch. It's just recent that they discovered his goodness.

I didn't say he's not a good player. He's solid, he's no all-star caliber player. Not even close. If fans think he is, they'll hate him.

He isn't. Just a solid contributor and a very consistent one at that. The people who want him on this team never said he is an all-star.

I didn't say EVERY player on a bad team, couldn't score on a good team. He reminds me of Mike James a few years ago. Where Mike averaged 20 a game on a crappy team. Someone threw a lot of money at him, he came back to earth.

Mike James is a chucker. While Salmons is an efficient scorer like James and Martin, not saying as good. No comparison between the 2.

Do I need to remind you people of Larry Hughes, here? I guarantee Salmons never has a year remotely statically as good as this year ever again.

So? What about Laura? Laura was born to wear suits at the bench and complain about not having any fun. While Salmons is a solid contributor who always thinks what's best for his team and not his own which explains why he rode the pines in Phila when they were winning and not say one thing about being benched.

Oh and Salmons was doing his thing since he joined the Kings. Pretty sure next year his stats are going to be almost the same. Bookmark this for your own pleasure, be my guest.

And Salmons isn't just shooting at a high percentage because he's on a bad team. The worse the team, the easier it is to keep everyone covered. Therefore, a lone threat like Salmons should be easier to handle, but he's maintaining a high FG and 3P percentage.

Exactly. If you haven't realized, Martin and Garcia is out for the majority of the games this season and Salmons, who is not an all-star by the way, carried the team. If it wasn't for this guy the Kings and Thunder would be competing for the baddest teams this year.

This team has plenty of perimeter offense.

The argument isn't that he's not a good offensive player. The argument is there's no way he'd put up any numbers like this on a winning team.

He's never shown his career he can be an overall efficient scorer, while scoring in larger volumes. Doing it for two years, on a horrible team isn't going to tell me much.

He went from 12 a game, to nearly 20 this year. You don't think that's a coincidence? He's having a career year. He's also 29, which indicates to me he'll never come close to that again. He's having his best year by mile, padding stats on a bad team.

No one has came out to admit he'd be a star player. I think most who want him so bad, figure he can be that number 2 kind of scorer. I don't see anything remotely like that. I can see him being a solid contributor on a contending team. I don't see what makes him impact us so greatly. We aren't lacking shooting.

how about we just wait till the deadline try to trade for

bosh
Amar
and if we dont get any of them try to get

Mike Miller
Bret Miller
T-Mac

Do I need to remind you people of Larry Hughes, here? I guarantee Salmons never has a year remotely statistically as good as this year ever again.

Larry Hughes had a career year on a fast-paced team. Then we through a lot of money at him and his injury prone self.

Salmons is a consistent player who seems to have a solid all around game. He isn't injury prone like Larry (since the 05-06 season he has missed 4 games total) and is paid less than 5 million a year.

Oh, and you keep attacking him for not scoring more than 10 points a game until these last two seasons. why is this? Is it that you've yet to discover that he is scoring a higher average EVERY season! Last year he was scoring points a game, this year near twenty while he steadily developed in his younger years.

Maybe he doesn't put us over the top, but adding him at the 2 and Moore for depth would make us a more complete team and a stronger contender. Salmons, if he works out, will be able to play for us for a few years while we consistently contend for a championship.

Sure, it isn't a absolute championship for us, but it obviously makes us a better team, so what's wrong with this if we can't land an All-Star to put us over the top?

I think we can contend as is, but another addition wouldn't be bad. When February rolls around, it should be easier to tell what needs to be done, if anything at all.

I don't see what makes him impact us so greatly. We aren't lacking shooting.

Why do you think we need a starting SG? We want a taller SG who can defend and shoot well. How is that not John Salmons and how does he not improve our team?

Salmons is obviously the guy to be had from Sacramento, but am I the only one that likes Garcia a lot for this team? I'd take Garcia and B-Millz (or whoever if he gets traded to Charlotte) for Wally if we can't find a better deal.

I like Garcia too. But he's sort of a Rich Man's Pavlovic. And any version of Pavlovic sucks ass. But damn sometimes Garcia looks like a star out there, just sometimes. He is hard-nosed player though.

B-52 on the other hand is a really good addition to this team. I don't care for his age or past injuries but his high basketball IQ greatly affects other players very well.
