I don't really understand why the Kings would make that trade. Gerald can play, but does he make them a playoff team? Hell no, so they just add more salary and will continue to be bad. That's a gm asking to be fired in the future. What a moron if he makes that trade.
Gerald Wallace would be a long term piece for them, they aren't looking for deals that put them over the top. Having Wallace at the 3/4 along with young guys like Garcia and Hawes could be a good step towards creating a young/talented core.
And Salmons isn't just shooting at a high percentage because he's on a bad team. The worse the team, the easier it is to keep everyone covered. Therefore, a lone threat like Salmons should be easier to handle, but he's maintaining a high FG and 3P percentage.
His numbers would certainly go down here, but I doubt Delonte could throw 20 a night with the Kings, since he never shined like Salmons has on a team like Seattle. Plus, Salmons is bigger than Delonte and is a good defender. I don't know how adding him would hurt us, even if he is over-rated. And look at his contract, what he is doing for the Kings is worth more than that.
A very late first rounder and Kaun (in this scenario) along with Wally (who might return) is certainly worth it IMO.
Mikki Moore is just depth as we saw would be necessary in that short run without Z. His contract expires in 2010 as far as I know, so he doesn't hurt our cap either.
