I think the cavs need some bangers and hustlers to become an elite ball club. ( aside from health) I'm not saying that he alone would put us over the top but him coupled together with what we got could put us in better position come playoff time. What would it take to get him here?

We dont have anything meaningfull to trade to Denver..

Gooden is our only asset. Id like to get Najera, he is a nice player off the bench, but he wouldnt be our focus if we gave up Gooden, that would be Watson. They arent going to take Newble or Jones with their contracts, and Sasha and Luke dont have much value..

Oh thats the dude that burned us with all those 3-pointers here in Cleveland?

Najera is a fine fine player and I wouldn't mind seeing him playing along side LeBron. There is something about some Euro players that makes them tough, and always play with great hustle.

But this seems like a long shot. I doubt Denver would give that guy up.

Why not? Till the last 5 games, he was benched.

Once Varejao gets back to 100% he'll be that hustling frontcourt bench player the Cavs need. The Cavs do need to adopt a more aggressive attitude but I think they can find role players like Najera at a cheaper price.
Najera is a solid backup but let's not get too excited about 1 game he had against the Cavs. He normally doesn't produce like that. Also, Najera is Mexican and played college ball at Oklahoma.

Najera is nothing great..... Please keep in mind, the CLEVELAND CAVALIERS turn scrubs into stars when they play them....

Najera is okay, and I wouldn't mind having the hustle.... But, Najera, along with Mike Dunleavy are not the all-world Larry Birds, and Moses Malones that they seem to be against the Cavs...

What does that part have to do with anything?

I think he was just pointing out to the people's champ that Najera is not a Euro.

Ruan: Najera has never played in Europe, which clears up the comment Infante made.

I think the players mentioned so far, including Banks/Blount for Jones/Gooden, could all be viewed as panic moves. There is no question I get uneasy watchig this horrid road trip. Our stars are banged up, and our supporting cast isn't very supportive. Our players are being shopped, but this isn't a fire sale. The Cavs looked like they were a healthy Varejao away from competing with the NBA elite before Hughes was shelved, and the team will look that much better once everyone heals.

I agree completely with that comment Randolphkeys. We were one of the top teams in the league before Hughes got hurt, and that was without Varejao. And while last night's game was a disaster, we'd be headed for a winning road trip if we'd made our free throws against LA, Denver, and Portland. This is not the time to panic and start reshuffling the team. Hughes' injury is going to cost us some playoff positioning, but when he gets back and Varejao is at full speed we'll be a real good team again. This is a rocky stretch, but the team has enough talent to weather it. The question is whether the two rookies--Ferry and Brown--panic.

aaronr and randolphkeys got it right. I was just clearing up that Najera isn't a Euro player and that he played college ball in the US.

Najera may be the type of player Cleveland need. IMHO, I think we need to get some 'tough' players. Guys who aren't afraid of taking a big hit, or giving one. This is why I was all over Cleveland trying to make a move for Ron Artest.
