Ford: Gooden trade halted by Snow/Jones

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would love to keep drew as well....we jus have to have an upgrade over E Snow at the PG...he is killing us....i hate to say it but it might be another "wait till next year" or "next year is our year".....but maybe we can just get through this season and in the summer resign Drew to a reasonable contract and offer the MLE to guys like Jason Terry and Andre Miller ( which would get a no I think) but I dont see us making a deal......maybe im wrong

If Drew rotated and played good D, it's hard to believe the Cavs wouldn't think long and hard about keeping him. I'm sure they've told him to do it but he either isn't listening or just can't pick it up. I like Drew and wish him well, but it's his defensive lapses that send him to the pine almost nightly.

The rotation of Gooden, Andy V, Marshall, and Z has been outstanding for us over the period that Hughes has been gone. Heck even one game we had Marshall at the 3, Gooden at the 4, and Z at the 5. Trading him for a point guard would not be good for the minutes we are able to sit Z. Having the abilities to sub any of those 4 guys in our 4-5 spot has really lifted Z and it has shown ever since Andy came back from injury. Lets face it Henderson was just not doing it and those 4 bigs help our team dramatically, even more if we had an upgrade at point guard. Heck there was a game that Lebron was playing point, Jones the 2 guard and the 3 above at those positions. If we need an upgrade a point guard, start Lebron there. He has been running the show the last 2 games anyway. An upgrade at point is going to have to wait, the big body is more important in my mind. We should try to resign Gooden. If we are wanting that point guard now, then again I say let Lebron run the show, he has been dominating there lately anyway..
