Classic.

I have been looking into the FBI and as of right now im going to school for Criminal Justice and Psychology and one thing I can tell you is that you have to have a very clean record.

If there are any incidents in college they get looked at. Say your roommate was drinking in your room while you werent there, you both get in trouble and there is an incident report put on file. They will look at that incident report as a negative and a blemish on your application.

Also it is a very competitive occupation and you will have to stack your application with internships and others resume boosters.

http://www.usmarshals.gov/ that site should help

I know Baldwin Wallace had a fair in the gym where all the majors and clubs set up a stand and gave information. Thats where i talked with a criminal justice professor and he was very helpful. I would just go to a nearby college and set up a meeting with a professor. Because I dont know about you, but my high school counselors were useless.

I have a good chance im ganna play baseball in college next year. (Im 6'3 Left handed pitcher ) Maybe ill get drafted, maybe not. But i will go and try out for a minor league team. Then make it to the bigs.

If not, It would be cool to work for the government.

That's definitely a job you have to really want to do because it's very tough to get into federal law enforcement. Even if you don't reach the level of Marshall or FBI agent, you can still have a successful career in state or local government. One of my friends started out in the Marines as a firefighter, found out he was afraid of heights, and ended up serving for their military police. He now is a local cop in a suburb of Columbus. He does pretty well and has better benefits than I could ever dream of working in the private sector.

You're already ahead of the game if you have a direction you want to go. The biggest problem I had in college was a lack of direction. Just head in a direction and finish it. If you want to change careers, the biggest thing is just having the degree. Most of the time employers don't care what it's in as long as you have it.

For instance, I manage a small business for a living that specializes in the natural gas and propane energy sector. I have a degree in business, my employees have degrees in physics, journalism, English, and the other has an associates in accounting. The guy who makes the most money is the owner and he only went to high school, so go figure.

Don't get just a justice degree. If you are going to do this, you need a double major. I have a justice degree and while the justice field is safe and ever-expanding, if you want a better job you need to get a second degree. Psychology is a nice choice, criminology instead of criminal justice might work better, sociology would also work well.

I graduated with a degree in Crim. Justice, so that would be the first thing I'd recommend. The second thing I would recommend is while you're in college do an internship with them. If you want any other advise just send me a PM.
