Looks like Pryor may get more time then expected...

Report: Sources say Ohio St. backup QB Henton to transfer
6/20/2008, 1:01 a.m. EDT
The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State's backup quarterback Antonio Henton is expected to transfer to Georgia Southern, according to a newspaper report.

The move is to happen soon, several sources close to the team told The Columbus Dispatch for a Thursday report on its Web site.

Georgia Southern spokesman Patrick Osterman would not confirm the transfer Thursday night, and said Henton is "not enrolled in classes at this moment."

A message was left late Thursday for an Ohio State athletic department spokesman. Coach Jim Tressel would not confirm the transfer to The Dispatch earlier in the day.

Georgia Southern's offensive coordinator Rance Gillespie was Henton's coach at Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Ga.

Henton, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound redshirt sophomore, has been battling redshirt freshman Joe Bauserman for the No. 1 backup spot behind senior starter Todd Boeckman. Incoming freshman Terrelle Pryor is also expected to be in the running for the top backup spot.

Henton sat out much of last year while under a legal cloud before pleading guilty to a minor misdemeanor count of loitering for prostitution.

He would have three years of eligibility at Georgia Southern and be permitted to play this season.

Backup quarterback Robbie Schoenhoft announced in January that he was transferring to the University of Delaware. The redshirt junior was the top substitute for Boeckman all last season but was moved to tight end for the BCS title game.

He should have just transferred last season when he knew he wasn't going to play. If he couldn't beat out Beckman sp? last year, what would have changed that this year?

No surprise. It was known he was going to transfer before this year.

Cant blame him. Id rather be able to play on a bad team than sit the bench on a good team in College as well.
