orlando and memphis are rumored to work on a deal and its rumored to consist of keith bogans(expiring)and jj redick(young). we need to somehow work a deal to get him. he is 6'5" and is a pg. him and delonte in the backcourt would be alot like the old houston backcourt of steve francis and cuttino mobley. thoughts

Re: javaris critentton

I think Cutino Mobley and Steve Francis were capable of getting to the playoffs once...

More Isiah and Joe-D and less Franchise and Cat

BTW.. We don't need this kid.. We need guys that are ready to step in and compete immediately.. He's a project..

u must of never seen him play. he is nba ready. he was nba ready last year(his rookie year) but just didnt get alot of minutes cause he was with the lakers and then was on a deep team like memphis and memphis was trying to deal kyle lowry so all javaris minutes went to lowry regardless of how much better javaris is of lowry

Re: javaris critentton

I've seen him play plenty, and I think he's a player that has potential... Problem for me is, I want a championship in 2009, and I want players that can contribute to that, and I don't believe Javaris is ready for that type of level of play..

If Javaris was ready to dominate, I think he would have made an impact with the Grizzlies... For as stacked and as "deep" as those Grizzlies are/were, I don't think that team would have held him back if he was ready to break out.. Much less trade for Mayo with the potential of Javaris Crittenton on their team...

Again, a player with plenty of potential, but not a player I want on the court for us during a championship run...

Re: javaris critentton

He reminds me of Larry Hughes. Good defender, slasher and rebounder. Can play the point although lacks pure point guard awareness. Shaky shot from range coupled with taking bad shots outside the flow of the offense.

I'd take him for a spin if all it cost was an expiring.

Re: javaris critentton

Your 100% right PIP but wouldn't it be worth something to get a guy, who could develop into a nice backup guard down the road and nice compliment to West and/or Gibson?

Sure he may not be ready to contribute now but that's why you have 15 roster spots... He could be the 15th guy and be sent down to the NBADL and develop for little bit... Or if they wanted to he could be the 12th player, whatever... Just because he is on the roster, doesn't mean he needs to be able to contribute now...

Not only that but it's all about adding young talent around LeBron and if we can do that for cheap, you do it... Especially with the lack of picks the last few years...

It also gives you yet another trading chip come time to make a deal... Plus it makes West expendable, should people want him...

I'd rather have Kyle Lowry, but that's just me..

Re: javaris critentton

I would have no problem with it, but I don't see any young talent we have that could land him.. I'm not trading a future 1st for him, nor am I willing to trade anything that could be thrown into the pot to land a more impactful player..

To get Crittenton, the Magic would most likely surrender veteran shooting guard Keith Bogans and multiple draft picks

There's no way I'm giving them multiple picks unless it was a couple 2nd rounders, and I don't think that gets it done...

I would be willing to trade Sasha for him straight up though...:)

That would be a no risk/potentially high reward scenario...

Re: javaris critentton

Completely agree Smooth. Cavs still need to add young talent and think long term while trying to win now. The lack of draft picks recently and past draft busts have left this team without a major amount of young prospects. It's gotten better with the addition of West and the drafting of Hickson and Jackson.

Crittenton would be a nice pickup if the price is right. I wouldn't give up a ton for him though. Is the type of G who would fit well alongside both West and Gibson.

...could we do that?

Re: javaris critentton

If the Grizz like Pavlovic I sure as hell wouldn't mind packaging him and an expiring for Javaris.

Re: javaris critentton

I'm in for a Pavlovic/Crittenton swap. :king:

Though they'd have to through in another salary to make it work [Greg Buckner, probably].

Re: javaris critentton

maybe we can also reduce our payroll somehow. memphis has the ability to take on more than they give do to there pay roll being so low. maybe they would do an eric snow and sasha for javaris and a trade exception or more simplier snow for javaris. i truely love javaris's upside and talent and would be a great fit here

Re: javaris critentton

straight up sasha and snow for crittenton works and we also lose $10 mil in salary:thumbup:

Re: javaris critentton

Why are we still talking about someone we have no need for?

i think u can find a need for a 6'5" pg that is explosive and still has room to grow. crit can take the place of west if he isnt back this season
