Jonathan Sanchez throws a No Hitter

So Sanchez threw a no hitter last night. 11 K's, 0 BB, and only a dumbass error by Uribe kept him from a perfect game. This was unbelievable. Coming into the game he was 2-8, only was in the rotation because Randy Johnson went to the DL, and got a second chance and proved himself well. He was only the 5th no no in Giant history. I'd still be pissed at Uribe. Rowand made a great catch to save a hit, but when doesn't he?

Even crazier? Or a testament to the Padres' hitting woes? They are the worst-hitting offense statistically in baseball.

It was a pretty routine grounder too. Not some weird hop. He even had a chance but bobbled it after he botched it the first time.

Wow. Rowand has looked like Willie Mays out there in CF lately, what a clutch grab...but yeah if the giants & pads are playing eachother then there's always a good chance a no-hitter happens. Worst two lineups in baseball. The Giants 2B Frandsen is hitting .061?! He makes Kelly Shoppach look like Pujols.

It did have a lot to do with the Pads horrible offense, but the Giants deserve a lot of credit, they've been stepping it up lately.

Crazy they have the second best record in the NL.

Sanchez is 4th in the rotation. Randy fucking Johnson is fifth.

I love this Giants team. The offense is horrible, but they surround great pitching with some young, scrappy ballplayers in the field. I agree they need a second baseman something fierce, but it's been a good summer here in San Francisco.
