no he wasnt, he wasnt even close. silas after his first 20 games with the cavs was 5-15, brown after his first 20 is 11-9. Mike brown has had 20 games to teach his team, thats not nearly enough time, if the cavs are still at .500 at the end of the season then there is definatly a reason to worry, however right now we are only a quarter of the way into the season.
Why would i be talking about rookie year for bron era? Last years team without larry, donyell and jones was the #1 team in the central. A team that played better defense but could also execute.

so you are comparing what silas was able to do after a year of being the coach of the cavs to what mike brown was able to do after 20 games? That in no way shape or form is fair to mike brown. If you want to compare how each coach did after 20 games thats fine, but to to compare them at different points makes no sense.

Thats like me saying MJ during his 8th season was better than lebron during his 2nd.... you just cant compare them.

Basically, he is saying. we were better last year, then this year...

Silas was the coach...

Brown was not...

The thing is, the Cavs kinda creeped up on people last season... Plus, J-MAC was playing pretty well early last year...

It just all went down hill...The novelty just seems to where off with this team...

They get real cocky when they win, and don't get pissed when they lose...

no offense lepip, but he was clearly putting the blame on brown saying silas preformed better, which is bullshit, after 20 games of head coach of the cavs silas had preformed worse.

tyguy even says
Silias had better results with this team with less talent... I have not been impressed with mike brown at all and the results are speaking for themselves.

Silas had at that point, had a year with the team to coach them and get them to understand what he wanted to do, mike brown has had 20 games. Like i said if at the end of the year the cavs are still playing around .500 then yes i will agree with tyguy however, at this point in time to say silas was better than brown is asinine.

Brown is even blaming himself... He said he was out coached yesterday... Said he "didn't" give the effort...

I like the fact that he recognizes that...

I think some of the players are on a short leash with the guy...

Yeah i dont know hwo i can make it more clear. Silas with less talent last season got more out of what mike brow is doing with much more talent. Also it doesnt matter what jmack was doing, remember we have damon joens who is better along with larry im suppose to be an all star hughes and donyell marshall.

If you are going to gvie mike brown the entrie season and find out we are only a 500 ball club, then he is already a failure. last years team with a lot less talent got above 500 and that was even after teh collapse after the management and coaching change. Mike hasnt done anything here to warrant praise, he is a rook coach with a lot of talent he cant seem to get to mesh offensively or defensiveley.

If you listen to the post game press conferences, you know Mike Brown knows what he's doing. Even in the wins, he points out what we're not doing yet that he wants us to do. It takes more than 20 games for a new coach to teach totally new systems to new players, many of which haven't played together before.

Mike Brown is 100% right to get the defense down before worrying about the offense. The team has to learn that lesson. Not just to the point where they repeat what the coach says, but to the point where they believe it and live it on the court. When we get there, we can worry about offense. The offense will come quick. The defense could take all season. By delaying the offense, Mike Brown is putting the burden on the players to speed up getting the defense down. We only have 82 games to get it down before the playoffs start.

I am not too concerned about Brown. My main angst is the rotations with him. I'd like to see hughes and LeBron play more on their own. Both are struggling to co-exist, so some time apart allowing them to be the conductor of the offense will do each of them some good.

Here is a minute breakdown of how I would like to see things played :

Minutes 0-6 : Snow, Hughes, James, Marshall, Ilgauskas
Minutes 6-10: Jones, Newble, James, Gooden, Henderson
Minutes 10-14: Jones, Hughes, Newble, Gooden, Ilgauskas
Minutes 14-20: Snow, Hughes, James, Marshall, Ilgauskas
Minutes 20-24: Jones, Newble, James, Gooden, Marshall

Thats a guide only, but a reflection of what I want to see.
