NCAA March Madness 2011

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That would help, but what would help more is if this one and done crap is ended. Making a student stay in school for at least two years would eliminate lots of the crappy play in the NCAA tourney.

While I don't disagree with you, for the Cavs sake we need to pray that this isn't the year that the NBA makes it a two year limit. We have two lottery picks in a 2011 draft that is already looking to be rather thin. 2012 looks to be a great draft, but requiring guys to stay two years would absolutely destroy next years draft. That would leave us with three lottery picks from two crappy drafts.

First title game I have never seen. I even watched last year's Duke/Butler game. How sad is that?

Butler finished #2 in the final coaches poll. What a joke. The polls after the tourney is a joke.

The USA Today Final Coaches Poll.

One coach gave OSU a first place vote. He's the smartest coach on the committee. He was on all bets are off today and made lots of good sense in explaining why OSU was the best team this year. This USA coaches poll is a joke. Just because a team does well in 5 straight games, they are now a top ten team in the country. What a joke. VCU is ranked #6 in the Final poll. UCONN is #1 Butler is #2. What a joke of a poll.

Why the hell play the regular season if the only thing that matters is the tournament?

It's hard to believe all those coaches watched that title game and came to the conclusion, "why of course, UCONN is the best and Butler is the 2nd best in the country." That game was pathetic played by two pathetic teams. Sorry.

Do the final standings in the polls really matter? As far as I'm concerned standings only matter in College Football. Anything outside the top 12 (BCS Bowls) doesn't matter.

Well no. If you go by that standard though; it seems no poll at any point in the season mean anything then. Why have the polls at all in basketball if they are a huge waste of time and money? I'm sure someone or group is paying for these polls in some way so if they mean nothing, why have them? All I know is that the coaches poll seemingly have real coaches who rank the teams weekby weekby who is best, next best, next best, etc. If we are to believe these coaches and what they come up with weak by weak, and then these same coaches come with entirely different ending ranks for teams just because of one tournament, how do we process this?

Richmond, Butler, and VCU were unranked at nd of the regular season. How does a team not ranked in the top 25 go to being ranked #2 at the end? Crazy stuff. Pathetic stuff. Get rid of the silly polls already. The coaches are totally insane if they actually believe UCONN is the best team in the country and Butler is the 2nd best team, and VCU is the 6th best team, and Richmond all the sudden is one of the top 15 teams in the country. Pathetic.

I agree. 10, 15, 20 years from now, people don't remember the polls. They just remember who won. No one says, "Hey, remember that year when we finished as the 14th ranked team in the country?"

Getting bent out of shape over the polls just isn't worth it.

Also, I saw that Pitt dropped from #4 to #12 and they lost to the so called #2 team in the country? How does that happen? The coaches can't have it both ways. The polls aren't logical.

To add on. The preseason polls are more worthless than the rest. Preseason polls in football can prevent a solid team from making it to a good bowl. They have to play from behind the 8 ball if they start outside the top 25. Hell if you start outside the top 15 I seriously doubt you can make up that ground to reach the BCS Championship.
