offense is letting down the defense

our offense is letting down our defense by shooting so many three point shots, which leaves our players in a bad position to get back on defense and allows the other team more time with the ball.

when we make a three pointer, that also opens up a mindset of big offensive plays as the answer, when we are really better off with a blue collar two and a solid defensive stand at the other end.

it would help if there were defensive statistics that helped get players awards and allstar recognition because that is what some of our players and their agents have as priority. but defense goes unnoticed so we will have to wait for that to happen on its own or with some mike brown coaching.

Offense comes from your defense sorry mate. You make stops you are able to push the tempo which allows easier penetration. Offense coming from a basket the play is slowed and the likelihood of a deep jumper are enhanced.

I do believe the Cavs offense has become to perimeter oriented!

LeBron almost never goes down in the post and is the Cavs best player down there because hes going to get the call if it is even close to a foul.

Personally I believe LeBron's game has taken a turn for the worst this season..kinda Kobesque.

Awful fadeaway shots and shots he has 1 in 10 chance of making instead of driving the ball, kicking to open teammates, and knocking down open jumpers.

There are times LeBron still plays like LeBron of earlier last season and other times he even takes games over at the right time but it seems to be less of the time instead of more.

If LeBron posts more often and can put the faith in his other players the way he did before the all-star break last year then the Cavs are unstoppable offensively!

i just feel that three point attempts encourage more three point attempts instead of working the ball inside for easier baskets. even if the easier shot is missed it is easier to get a rebound and if the rebound goes to the defense, the rest of the team has time to get back on defense. long three point attempts lead to some long rebounds and before you know it the other team has a fast break. this is particulary a problem when a three point attempt is made early in the shot clock, because make or miss, now you have to go back on defense and because defense is physically harder, that wears down the team. conversely, a team that moves the ball and holds onto the ball deep into the twenty four second clock wears out the opponent. quick three point attempts also tend to ignore the front court players who cannot shoot from outside. once they see the tendency to jack up a lot of threes, they work less to get open because they expect that their efforts will go for naught in any event.

the three point shot can be a curse. strange how scoring is lower now than in the days before the three pointer was added.
