Draftexpress.com - The Toronto Raptors have made some unorthodox moves this offseason and another one is abound with the reported signing of Macabbi Tel Aviv star Anthony Parker.

One year after the Indiana Pacers imported Macabbi's star Sarunas Jasikevicius, the Raptors bring in the explosive 31 year old Parker.

The 6'6" Parker will most likely be the Raptors' starting small forward.

Haha a guy who couldn't crack the league becoming a sure fire starter? More power to ya..glad we didn't get this guy :chuckles:

Bryan Coangelo is a great GM... don't underestimate his moves.

Now, of course it would be difficult for Parker to crack the rotation, unless Bosh starts at 5 and Bargnani at the 4... But regardless, the starting 5 of Nesterovic, Bosh, Bargnani, Peterson, and Ford is pretty solid.

I have a feeling Coangelo is trying to build up a team similar to his old Phoenix Suns.. he's getting pretty close, drafting a shooter, signing a shooter, and trading for a lightning quick PG that is quite adept at setting up offenses. Pair that with Chris Bosh... I have a feeling that the Raptors will win the Atlantic Division...

Watch him come in and drop a nice 16.8 PPG and shoot 47% from 3 while playing solid defense..

I will proceed to dig this and the other thread up and make fun of all of you until you start to get pissed and eventually want to leave.

When Larry is sitting there with his neck-brace and walking boot on, some of you will remember we could have had this guy..

Haha probably Pip, but this guy wasn't as highly touted as Saras and he didn't do much..even with Jamal Tinsley crippled all year.

.......Pretty solid if you want to get a good chance at getting Greg Oden next year in the draft. CV for Ford is a horrible trade, James > Ford at PG. And Nesterovic is not going to come close to replace the numbers of CV. Bargnani sounds like the type of player I would be pissed off if my team picked number 1. Parker could be a good starting 3, if he can adjust to the pro game. He seemed to have a nice shot. I still think the Raps ain't going nowhere next year. A team that is the 6th worst team last year, and possibly downgrades its overall talent does not win its division IMHO. They had a decent amount of cap room and haven't done much with it.

There are busts here, surprises there. Late bloomers as well as 1 year wonders. This is for both NBA and European players. You cannot just say Sarunas struggled so its likely Parker will, particulary when they a completely different game.

:chuckles: I'd say about 6.8 PPG would be more accurate...

You win the Internets.

:chuckles: Nice job digging that up.

I wanted the guy...

He's putting up solid numbers, and is the best perimeter defender on that team... Just envision the team we have now, and this guy or Sasha coming off our bench... We need bench scoring BTW....

You could plug him in at the 2 spot or have him come in for Sasha or LBJ.... But no, we had to have Super Dave, and Pollard instead...

Danny Ferry is a dumbass.... I didn't want him either and the more I watch this team, the more I realized why I didn't want this flamer.....
Ferry: "It's best to move forward with the gained corporate knowledge".. Excuse me ? "Corporate knowledge"... Please explain to me this "Corporate Knowledge" numbnuts..

"Corporate Knowledge" my ass..... Marshall, Jones, Hughes, Wesley, Pollard and two undeveloped rookies in two years.....Apparently someone missed the "corporate knowledge" seminar in which he speaks so highly of.... Pax could have pulled that off..

Claim to fame for Ferry ----> Ronald FLIP Murray..

Cavs organization will never learn.... Ferry = Disaster....

You mean disaster in a good way, right? ;)

I'm still confused how bringing in Wesley and Pollard was a better idea than just keeping Flip. Or bringing in a guy like Parker... and if they claim they didn't know enough about him since he played overseas... well they seemed pretty sold on Sarunas.

And I'm not sure who to blame for the underdevelopment of our rooks... I think the lion's share goes to Brown for his ever-changing rotation.
