I got sick of having my ipods break down every two years, and I noticed these Sansas on sale at Circuit City last week. Had never heard of them before. I got my 8G for $89.99 at RadioShack http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3149039
and I have to say that I am much more satisfied with it than I was after the first week w/ my last Ipod. We'll see how it stacks up long term, but as long as it waits til after a year and a half to have problems...it's in the clear.
They're really user friendly, they look pretty sharp and any review I've read online indicates that it's reliable.
Strong recommendation for the Sansa for those of you considering getting an MP3 player, especially if you've had a negative experience with the Ipod. The only complaint I could make is that none of the major chains carry Sansa accessories like armbands, alternate headphones, carrying cases, etc. But you can also find them online for really cheap. I got an armband and case package for under $2.
