I am one of few to think that the Raptors actually got the better deal out of this... I think Coangelo sees Villanueva as a potential risk for a sophomore slump. Of course he deafened the doubters last season with his outstanding rookie season, but doubts did rise for him being underachieving and lazy... he's quite prone to that still, even after a great showing. Plus, Bargnani is supposedly much better and Charie V's value is its highest right now. Now the Bucks have to worry about the minute distribution, and if anyone's going to play any defense.
Coangelo also saw the flaws in keeping Mike James, so he tried to find a good young PG to take the reins... to be paired with Bosh and Bargnani for years to come. TJ Ford is small and frail.. yes, but he still is extremely explosive and quick... his offense is his best defense, he'll run down his opponent night in and night out with his speed that will make them less effective on the offensive end. And, the Raptors have plenty of oustide shooting to complement his penetrating ability.. Mo Pete and Bargnani... And besides, Coangelo knows as good as anyone that Steve Nash couldn't play a lick of D, yet the Suns end up still extremely successful.... Just gotta get everyone else to cover his deficiency.
