Would You Consider Terrell Owens?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, Holmgren was the offensive coordinator who drafted and developed Owens. I'm sure he is taking a little longer to think about this move than some posters here... we have no established offensive weapons. Harrision was great for about four games, Watson has proven that he can be a third option. Everything else is potential and possibilities.

Uhhhhhhh....No he wasn't.

He was the head coach of the Packers at the time Owens was drafted.

Considering I'm one of the(if not the only), biggest Terrell Owens fans around.. I'd be all for this move.

Its not because he's my favorite football player either. The fact that he still has enough talent in the tank to be better than anybody on the Browns' roster at receiver and put up decent numbers for a year, I really don't see how much harm it could do.

During Owens' time in Dallas he helped the receivers there when they were younger. Guys like Miles Austin learned a little from Owens, Patrick Crayton was another receiver he helped in terms of improving their all around games.

Owens has some baggage, no question about it. He's often upset when he doesn't get enough throws, and when the team isn't winning. But his last two seasons he hasn't been much of a problem. Last year with the Bills showed a lot out of Owens in a sense that he could handle being on a losing team with limited throws thrown his way. Of course I believe he did that to showcase to other contenders that he was a different type of player with his attitude and all, but I believe he could help us a lot and himself included.

If the Browns want somebody who works their ass off on the field and helps his teammates around him, Owens is your guy. You'd just have to trust that he wont be too much of a hassle if you indeed brought him in and everything didn't work out as planned.

It wont happen though, but I would definitely be open to it.

If you believe everything you hear on ESPN...I guess.

Quite frankly I think his persona is quite overblown.

I believe every city he's played in he's been basically ran out of. 49ers, bitched his way out of being a Raven, Eeagles, Cowboys had enough, Buffalo started trying to deal him before the trade deadline.

We cleared out Winslow and Braylon because they aren't guys that think team first. They're me first and everyone else has a number. So the logic we used in clearing them out...we throw aside to bring in TO?

Awful

I wouldn't mind it.. He wasn't in the headlines last year in Buffalo for wrong reasons, and considering the QB situation in Buffalo, he was productive. A lot of uncertainty in the Receiving core right now.

Football: Terrell Owens
Basketball: Larry Hughes

You love guys who everyone's fan base completely hates and are embarrased of. Let me guess...your favorite baseball player is John Rocker?

Old age sucks.

Thanks for the reminder... perhaps I should just stop posting on RCF Mobile during the day since I can't double-check my memory.

At the same time, I'm with you that this isn't the worst idea in the world... our receiving corp is incredibly young, and while I have more faith in our offensive coaches than I have had for a very long time, this is a glaring problem.

I've always been a fan of players who weren't the type of players everyone loved. Just look at my favorite musical artist.. Chamillionaire and Mario. Feels good to be different, I guess.

And for the record, my favorite baseball player is/was Kenny Lofton.

Early Chamillionaire is the best.

FUCK yes. Kenny and Omar are my favorite Indians of all time. But don't forget Wayne Kirby...

I like the newer Chamillionaire.. Of course the early Cham was pretty good, I still love his new stuff a whole lot more to be honest.

Unless we're talking about mixtape messiah 2, which was my favorite mixtape out of the series' he created.

Omar is awesome as well.. Can't say I remember much of Kirby, though.

I remember being a little kid and skipping school just to watch the Indians' home opener, and of course Kenny Lofton. I still have the autograph of him signing his rookie card for me back in 97(I believe). He came to me first out of the whole group of people at the gate, was like a dream come true at the time.

I honestly wouldn't rule it out..

Holmgren was there with Owens in San Francisco and likewise Heckert in Philly with Owens so both of our decision makers have experience with the guy and know what type of player/person he is...

The Browns need a veteran #1 receiver who could be a stop gap for a year or two and TO wouldn't be too bad... He proved last year he could play nice (within reason) on a bad team so it's not out of the question he wouldn't be a problem here...

Holmgren was in Green Bay in 1996. But 3 of Holmgren's assistants have coached t.o. before.

Mooch Reid and Juron. Also with Heckert as you stated.

I'd welcome him with open arms. I know he's a headcase, but we need to have some kind of a veteran #1. Mo Mass will be good we can all see his talent, but for now we need somebody to take some pressure off of him while he matures as a player. We're a team that is going through a major rebuild and we're going to have a lot of youth on the team. We're going to need all of the talented vets we can get while these guys mature.

And yes, I'm aware he's nuts.

I'm just kidding. He just looked like a hybrid of Kenny Lofton and Albert Belle and was very mediocre.

T.O. just saw we signed Delhomme and thought to himself he would rather retire than join the Browns.

He may have already been thinking that before we signed Delhomme anyways.
