Pretty big news for the MLB clubs in need of right-handed power.

Not going to make an impact in 2014, but could be this year's version of Jose Abreu.

I would literally kill for the Indians to sign him.

Four years younger comes with understandably less polish, but he's a better athlete to be sure.

Not ready to make the Abreu impact, but still has a ton of potential and the ball seems to explode off his bat.

Indians need a large bat.. Are there chances this kid lands on a team that doesn't have unlimited $$?

It's always possible, but I'd say there is a 1-in-30 chance right now.

I'd imagine the Indians focus this offseason may be on pitching.

Is he a first basemen?

Please, Dolan family?

I think you start with Abreu's contract and go from there. He has the hype of the last 3 big signings to go with his pedigree, along with needing to make up whatever percentage he loses off the top to the drug cartel that probably got him out of Cuba. He has leverage and means to go for more, and will get it. I just can't see that team being the Tribe. We get the Yandy Diazes, sorry. :chuckles

Amherst- if you are willing to back that up, maybe the Tribe could get a 15% discount if you can get the Zetas or Sinoloa or whoever the hell got him out...

a lot closer to cespedes then abreau

Not the athlete Cespedes is, more of an athlete than Abreu.

Six of one, half dozen of the other. As a hitter with raw power he profiles much closer to Abreu though, hence the loose comp.

As I'm reading this thread, abreu just hit another homerun. Lol!
