Eric Berger, SP for Kinston.

3-2, 1.82 ERA, 39.2 IP, 44 K's, 19 BB's.

With Berger, Putnam, Rondon, Gomez and De La Cruz, we certainly have some nice young pitching. Now we just need some guys in the development area that won't ruin their careers.

Berger has looked solid, although the BB rate needs to improve. I try not to get excited about a pitcher until they make it out of Kinston healthy and effective- just doesn't pay to get too amped about pitchers in A ball. Too much time left for them to get hurt, plus any starting prospect usually has a couple pitches to work on.

Now, if you want a pitcher to really watch- Chuck Lofgren at Akron. Was a top prospect for this team heading into last year and had a disasterous season. Looks to have bounced back and his control has been the best he has shown as a pro.

No perfect games. This guy sucks.:thumbdown

Wouldnt be surprised.Lol

Seriously?

Shapiro does not believe in trading the farm, like John Hart did..

The only time Shap will trade a prospect is if we have a surplus at that position (Ryan Church)
