Re: Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes
Can we just use the TPE on Eddy Currys contract to get a first rounder pick from someone?.. please

Well, that could be that. Even if the Nuggets want someone to take on the rest of Curry's contract, the Knicks don't have any picks whatsoever to entice another to do that.
Patiently waiting for the day I can finally say "Daniel Gibson is no longer a Cavalier." It will be glorious.

Re: Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes
If I'm Denver, I do the nets deal and not even think twice about it. But I think the reason why this is turning into such a drama festival is because
A. Nets are offering the best deal
B. Carmelo doesn't want play for the Nets
Otheriwsw, imo, this deal would have been done already. So you can see the conundrum. Donnie doesn't have to sell NYC to Melo, but Prohkorov has to sell BK. And the clock is approaching midnight.

Re: Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes
I think that's way too much for the Knicks too give up to. They're giving up their starting PG, SF, PF (Chandler starts at "PF" IIRC) for Carmelo, plus a 1st round pick?
Carmelo + Amare + junk has no chance against Boston or Miami. Probably not against Orlando or Chicago either.
Yes Carmelo is a fringe superstar, but at the same time the players they're giving up are very effective in their system. The most valuable skill in basketball is not the ability to convert difficult shots, but create easy ones.

here it is
alanhahn Alan Hahn
Almost a given a third team would be involved to absorb Eddy Curry contract and give Denver valuable cap/luxury tax relie
