Austin Rivers plays like there is a magnet on the right side of the floor.

Well, I guess everybody's bracket is pretty much screwed now. (And that's why I never do one.)

I guess we can add CJ McCollum to the list of guys with the Lakers pick. Can you say instant offense off the bench?

Here's a write up from Chad Ford:

    Sleeper
    • Lehigh's C.J. McCollum isn't a stranger to college basketball fans and NBA scouts. They've been watching him closely since his breakout freshman season at Lehigh. But, over the course of the past six weeks, with word coming that McCollum might declare for the draft, teams are taking a closer look and liking what they see.

McCollum is a 6-foot-3 scoring machine who can light it up from anywhere on the floor. He's quick with the basketball, an elite rebounder for a guard and racks up steals. The biggest question for McCollum was whether he could work his magic against the elite teams in college basketball.

In the past seasons, he has struggled. This year was an improvement. Against St. John's, Iowa State and Michigan State, McCollum got his points but didn't shoot well from the field against relentless pressure.

Still, if he does declare for the draft, he has a shot at making the second round, even the late first round, according to a handful of NBA scouts.
    PLAYER EVALUATION
    Projection Late First Round Pick
    Positives
    Electric scoring guard
    Quick first step
    Excels in transition
Solid shooter with range on his jumper
    Excellent rebounder for a guard
Picks up a lot of steals
    Very efficient
    Negatives
    Needs to add strength
    Lacks elite athleticism
    A tweener?

And honestly, he shouldn't. He'll be a top 5 lock next season.

A guy who should (and obviously will) is Mason Plumlee. At least he doesn't loaf like Drummond

Fuck Rivers, you need to come out. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I want to draft him.

Well, Cavs will probably be worse next year so we'll have a shot.

    How do you figure?

If we hit on a draft pick and AV is back healthy...I don't see us being worse.

I don't think we're drafting a first year impact player at the 10-12 spot. Or even the 8 spot. Someone who may turn into a good player down the road, but not an instant impact star the way Irving was. That's my prediction, anyways.

I can't predict any offseason trades or anything, but I'm thinking we might deal Varejao at some point for picks, but who knows what we'll get in return. Maybe we'll acquire a fringe All Star to lead us to the playoffs next season, I can't predict that. But I'm hoping not, and that we stick strictly with draft picks and young players. I assume Jamison will be gone.

i feel like if we replace anthony fucking parker with someone like bradley beal, this team is much much better. i can see a problem caused by jamisons lack of scoring, but it can be replaced.

I'm not convinced we'll be anywhere close in the draft to getting Beal. If we do, yeah, that could be an improvement...although again, I'm not sure he's coming in and being a star as a rookie.
