Potential destinations for Ramon Sessions

From what the Laker forums are saying, it appears that fans are more than willing to part with a 1st for Sessions, and possibly both 2012 1st round picks. So, after reading some of the Lakers forums (Mostly on RealGM, but a couple lesser knowns too), I thought of this:

Lakers In: Ramon Sessions, Cavs 2012 2nd.
Lakers Out: Dallas 2012 1st, Lakers 2012 1st, Walton.

Cavs In: Dallas 2012 1st, Lakers 2012 1st, Walton.
Cavs Out: Ramon Sessions, Cavs 2012 2nd.

Or just an easy Sessions for Dallas 1st, which the Lakers already reportedly turned down.

If neither of the above scenarios can be done, then:

Atlants gets: Sessions + Jamison + Cavs 2012 2nd

Cavs get: Hinrich + Williams + Atl unprotected 2012 1st


If the Cavs are able to send Sessions to the Lakers for the Dallas pick, then:

Atlanta gets: Antawn Jamison

Cavs get: Hinrich + Williams.

I don't want Luke Walton. Try again..

Here is part of an article that I read a little bit ago. I wont add a link (unless you really want it) because most people here don't like the site. But, I'm quoting part of the article because what it says... not who said it, or what site they write for.

The article talks about the Lakers having a lot of interest in two PGs (Sessions, and Felton), and it goes on to make a pretty solid case for Sessions (although 7m is too much imho for session - the writer says 5-7m)

...Sessions averages .79 points per play on the pick and roll compared to Felton's .58. Sessions shoots .429 from deep, Felton is hitting .244.
I'm not going to argue that Sessions is going to be Deron Williams or Chris Paul, but he's a huge upgrade over Fisher. He is a player that has to be accounted for, and because of that he brings a better version of Gasol and Bynum with him.
There is a caveat here. He is a free agent next year if he doesn't pick up the option on his contract. The Lakers would have a leg up on keeping him, though, and he'd be worth it. It's not like he's going to be taking up max-contract money in free agency. The Lakers could keep him with an offer of $5-7 million, which he is worth.
Sometimes teams can press too hard to find the huge deal and they miss out on the good deal. They are trying to hit a home run when they need a single. They're going for a birdie when they need a par. This is a solid deal, and the Lakers need to make it before the window closes on Kobe's career.

The deal being referred to is assumed to be the offer the Cavs made to trade Sessions for the Dallas 1st - although I didn't actually see that deal mentioned, I assume it is the one referenced, as there is no other public offer that has been confirmed.

I thought we could do something like this:

Lakers in: Ramon Sessions, Anthony Parker, Cavs 2nd Rounder (remember we would still have NO 2nd Rounder)
Cavs In: Darius Morris, Luke Walton's contract, and both 1st rounders (of course DAL 1st is top 20 protected til 2018)

Why Parker? Kobe is averaging 38 mins per game...they have to be worried they are wearing him down. Getting a player like Parker (they have no other SG on the roster) should help them reduce his minutes under the 35 min mark. This also leaves the Lakers their entire TPE to make additional moves.

Then, if you could potentially follow this trade up with Jamison to ATL (possibly throwing in NO 2nd to pry away their 1st), we actually don't kill our chance at chasing the 8th seed if we so desire, all the while giving ourselves a lot of assets to try and trade up in next yrs draft. (up to 3 additional 1sts this yr)

I posted this in the "Building the right way forum" but Windy is on WKNR right now. He said he believes Sessions will be moved by the deadline. Also, he said action has picked up on Jamison and the Cavs feel better about trading him now than they did a couples months ago. I will have a full recap later this afternoon.

How could the Cavs possibly feel bad about trading Jamison? Maybe I'll have to read between the lines....

So two months ago the front office actually thought this team had a chance of making the 8th seed. Now they realize they have the same team as last year plus one great rookie and one project rookie. Other than that, seems like trading Jamison wouldn't require much thought.

I think what was meant was that the Cavs didn't think they could move him a couple of months ago due to lack of interest. Considering his scoring as of late, I believe, some teams may have started to inquire what it would take to get him.

$6.1 million to move up 10 spots in the first round is a bargain. If you want to build a contender, and you are willing to spend money, why would you not jump at the opportunity?
