Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
I like how every media outlet is hyping Tannehill now...
I like McShay's mock for the Browns. He has them going with Blackmon and Mike Adams in the first round...

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
Fact is they are not gonna please everyone with the pick. Claiborne, Kalil, Richardson, and Blackmon would all be considered a good pick at four. This pick will however dictate our whole draft strategy. I think that if Kalil is there at four(by some miracle)he is the no brainer. Bookend with Thomas for a good five years or so, then move to left when Joe retires. Only problem with that is, then we have to get a WR, RB, LB, and possibly a QB with some starter ability in the draft. Could go with Wright at 22 then L. James at 37. Then Osweiler in the third along with the best available LB. Any way you slice it...if they take Tannehil in the first round at all...I will sell my season tickets!

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
The reason people don't like Blckmon in the top 5 is he isn't the freak athlete that Calvin or AJ Green are. But he does so many things well. I see a lot of Jerry Rice in his game. Stylistically speaking I mean, not saying he's going to be a HoF WR. He isn't the biggest or the fastest, but he has it where it counts and has crazy good hands. This guy is going to be a hell of a pro.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
Been pimping Blackmon for awhile now.
The guy just screams pro bowl wide receiver when I watch him play. He could instantly come into Cleveland and make Colt McCoy look a lot better and, it gives Greg Little a chance to become a lot more comfortable with the secondary cornerback covering him instead of other teams first.
I think the first year for Blackmon will be a challenge, especially if he becomes a Brown.. But I'm 95.9% sure he's going to be a standout for some team.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
Since we're playing this game...
4 - Richardson
22 - Martin (Hill if Martin is gone)
37 - Jeffery (Hill at 22 if momentum places Jeffery higher than 37. If Hill was taken at 22, then Osemele or Bobby Massie)
67 - Travis Lewis

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
I don't understand it one bit when people say they want Kalil. First of all, he isn't going to be there when we pick regardless, second, WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST LEFT TACKLES IN THE NFL. Why in the sweet name of baby Jesus would you want to take ANOTHER franchise LT and move him to RIGHT TACKLE?! I am just so baffled by this thought process, and I've heard it from quite a few people, too. When a team has as many holes at skill positions as we do, the LAST thing you would EVER want to do is take an offensive lineman at #4, especially when you've already got one of the best in the business in the fold, and locked him up with a new contract.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
I'm really hoping this is the draft where the Browns just say to hell with it and draft the hell out of offense. I'm talking two WR's and an RB in the first five picks.
How about a quick simile: Watching the Browns from '99-'12 is like waiting for someone to finish shitting when you've gotta go piss real bad. Now imagine waiting on a 12 year shit...

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread
Victor Cruz
Greg Jennings
Jordy Nelson
Wes Welker
Steve Smith
Vincent Jackson
DeSean Jackson
Antonio Brown
Mike Wallace
Brandon Marshall
Marques Colston
Steve Johnson
Nate Washington
12 of the top 20 receivers (in terms of reception yards) were not drafted in the 1st round.
2 of the top 20 were TE's
6 (Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Roddy White, Dwayne Bowe, Hakeem Nicks) were 1st rounders.
I like Blankman. However, just because he may be the best WR in this class (which is arguable), it doesn't mean he warrants the 4th pick. And in my estimated opinion, he is, at best, Roddy White, who took 3 years to break out.
