That is more of an indictment against Jones than it is me supporting Blackmon. I'm not a fan of Jones at all and I think Blackmon will be very good. The kid is just a player.

For you that want Trent Richardson...

It's been on the radio all day that the Bucs are probably going to take him at 5 if he's there... So trading down may not be an option if you are in the Richardson camp...

Blackmon is Dez Bryant with brains. Would you select Dez Bryant at 4 if he was less of a head case and had more passion for the game, itself? For me, that's an easy yes.

    Blackmon is worth the 4.

The bottom line is that if we go into next season with McCoy as the starting QB and Massaquoi as the top receiver...

regarding Eric Wright...walterfootball gives every free agent signing a grade. their comment on Eric Wright and the contract he got gave me a chuckle:

Bucs sign CB Eric Wright (5 years, $37.5M): MILLEN ON LSD-LACED KIELBASA Grade

This is the worst signing in NFL history. That sentence is not an exaggeration.

Eric Wright is terrible. I gave him 1.5 stars in my 2012 NFL Free Agent Rankings for a reason. He's been torched numerous times per week over the past few seasons. Detroit and Cleveland fans know how bad Wright is, and the Buccaneers are about to find out.

Seriously, what the hell was Mark Dominik thinking? He couldn't have been sober when he made this transaction. I refuse to believe it. A plausible explanation is that Matt Millen snuck into his office, strangled him, shoved some LSD-laced kielbasa into the general manager's back side, and then slipped Wright's agent's number into his hand. When Dominik awoke, he was still delirious, so thought that paying $37.5 million to one of the worst cornerbacks on the market was a great idea.

Yes, that's exactly what happened. You heard it here first.

Fantasy: Frostee Rucker – Run Stopping Extraordinaire?
    March 14th, 2012 | Author: Mike Daneshgar

The Cleveland Browns need help all over the place. They ranked 23rd in sacks and 30th in rushing defense for the 2011 season. Incumbent Right Defensive End Jayme Mitchell ranked 66th out of 67 right defensive ends for PFF with a -15.3 rating. While a Mario Williams would have been a Cleveland fan’s dream free agent, that is not GM Tom Heckert or President Mike Holmgren’s current plan of action – which primarily revolves around building through the draft and acquiring under the radar free agents.

Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns came to an agreement with former Cincinnati Bengal RDE Frostee Rucker – a 5 year deal worth 21 million (8 million guaranteed). While this may not be the type of signing to break the internet or inspire one into purchasing Cleveland Browns season tickets, based on limited exposure it could be a thrifty move for a player that has performed well in part-time duty.

Rucker’s primary role will likely be as run defender – which he did well as. In fact, Rucker may have done better than well if he were only given more snaps. For 4-3 defensive ends, he finished the season with 31 stops (i.e. tackles for loss + sacks + solo tackles not downfield), good enough for 15th. But, let’s look closer at the top 15 stoppers (yes, I made that up) on a per snap basis.

Name Stops Snaps Snaps per stop

    Jared Allen 46 1044 22.70
    Terrell Suggs 44 953 21.66
    Jason Pierre-Paul 43 971 22.58
    Chris Clemons 36 952 26.44
    Jabaal Sheard 36 970 26.94
    James Hall 36 737 20.47
    Israel Idonije 36 944 26.22
    Jeremy Mincey 35 973 27.80
    Andre Carter 34 753 22.15
    Trent Cole 32 640 20.00
    Elvis Dumervil 32 863 26.97
    Cory Redding 31 510 16.45
    Lamarr Houston 31 719 23.19
    Greg Hardy 31 904 29.16
    Frostee Rucker 30 447 14.90

Not too shabby from Rucker. That 14.9 snaps per stop clearly ranked first out of the top 15 stoppers. And with a quick eyeball test comparing snaps per stop of all 4-3 defensive ends, it looks to be the best. Obviously, he’s only playing part-time (so likely not facing many double teams) but Tom Heckert may have found himself a bargain in the Frostee Rucker. His 7 career sacks and 11 QB disruptions on 213 pass rushes in 2011 likely won’t benefit the teams need to get to the QB, but as a pure run-stopper the 28 year old out of USC may be getting overlooked by many.

We literally have no offensive talent sans Greg Little. And you people wanna take a corner with our first pick? Sounds great

    RUMOR ALERT!

Rumor has it the Rams have offered us #6, #33 and #39 to move up to #4.

    That would give us

    6
    22
    33
    37
    39

    Luck
    RG3
    Kalil
    Rams - Blackmon or Claiborne.
    Bucs - Richardson or Claiborne
Browns - Blackmon, Richardson or Claiborne - whoever's left

Again, this is a rumor, but it's out there (Per the OBR)

If he's the BPA, yes, you do it. And he will be. He's the best pure corner to come out in the past 5,6 years.

Well have fun with another unwatchable season next year. And you people are really building up Claiborne more and more. I'm willing to bet he doesn't live up this crazy hype he has on RCF and doesn't become the next Revis.
