    Default Greg Oden

Released by Blazers....why not pick him up? Gilbert has the cash to give this guy time to get healthy (if possible).

I feel like getting him back on Buckeye soil would do him well. I would let Greg sit out an entire season if it meant finally getting him on the basketball court. I question the state of his knees, but even if he plays a five year career he could be a difference maker down low. If the price is right, sign me up. Can't be worse than Semih or Hollins

Is he free to sign with anyone on a new contract?

Sure... if you can get him on a minimum deal. Oden with no knees is still a massive upgrade on Hollins.

Sign me up...even if he wears a suit, he'd give us better production than Hollins

Can we sign free agents, no matter that trade deadline passed?

Yeah, if he's waived he's free to sign where ever he likes whenever he likes. It'd be smart for the Cavs to buy while his stock is low. I doubt it happens. Oden would be wise to wait until he's healthy to sign with a team. A heathier Oden is worth more than his current state.

Plus his contract is guaranteed. I may be wrong, but I believe if he signs with a team before his contract is officially over he forgos the remainder of his current deal.

There really is no downside to bringing him in and giving it a shot, especially for a rebuilding team. If he gets hurt again, you just cut him.

His current contract was for 1.5 mill....Even if you pay him whatever he's owed this season or alittle more and a contract for another year or two, it is well worth the risk.

Sign him, set him up with the Cleveland Clinic, and let them do their magic.

Would love to bring Oden back to Ohio, where he belongs. New scenery and back home might do him well, certainly couldn't hurt considering what we have at center. If he gets and stays healthy, he could be our center for a while.
