Preseason rankings (basketball) OSU powers up
Feel like not a lot of people actually click on the Basketball sub-forum so I am just putting this here. That is 4 B1G-10 teams in the Top 10. Could get interesting:
1. Indiana
2. Louisville
3. Kentucky
4. Kansas
5. Michigan
6. Baylor
7. NC State
8. Ohio State
9. FloridaThe Buckeyes have never disappointed under Thad Matta. This team is a consistent winner that is always near or at the top of the Big Ten and in title contention. Next season won't be any different. The big news from the past week wasn't losing Jared Sullinger. That was expected. But getting Deshaun Thomas to come back means they have a go-to scorer in the frontcourt, even if he likes to score more facing the basket. And the Buckeyes still have Aaron Craft doing all the things Aaron Craft does, and Lenzelle Smith Jr. and LaQuinton Ross are going to be studs.
10. Michigan St.
11. North Carolina
12. Syracuse
13. UCLA
14. Memphis
15. Duke
16. San Diego St.
17. Arizona
18. Creighton
19. Notre Dame
20. Gonzaga
21. Texas
22. Wisconsin
23. UNLV
24. Minnesota
25. Missouri
They have a description for each team if you would like to check it out.

Re: Preseason rankings (basketball) OSU powers up
QRoss needs major minutes next year, probably even needs to start. This team is going to struggle to score big time.

Re: Preseason rankings (basketball) OSU powers up
If Ross or Smith (or both) can pick up the slack and Thomas continues to score like he did this season (and especially in the tournament, up until the Final Four) then I honestly don't think scoring is going to be a huge problem. I think both of those guys need to average double digits in scoring, though. And as long as they remain as defensively sound as they were this year I think they are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
That being said, I don't see a repeat Final Four appearance happening, but stranger things have happened.
