Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
As I've said before, it'll be the reverse of this year where the Cavs will start out horrible and end stronger. Jamison's points won't be replaced right away unless we end up with someone like Lamb or Beal and they come out like Kyrie did. I'm predicting a 4-8 pick next year maybe better if the Cavs go SG

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
F Gee/Casspi
F Davis/Thompson
C Varejao/??
G Harris/Doron Lamb
G Irving/Sloan
"Best" case scenario sneaks into the 8th seed with a 38-44 record.
"Worst" case scenario, the FO is overly cautious with injuries again and Irving/Davis/Varejao miss about 75 games combined. 26-56 record lands us the 8th pick.
2013 - Sign a big time center and swingman (Al Jefferson and James Harden) and watch the team reverse its record.

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
We will be a late lottery team next season. We will be competeing for a playoff spot 3/4ths of the season, but our inexperience will hurt us.
Its hard to gauge because there's no telling who were gonna draft. Will it be a solid immediate contributor like Davis or Beal? Or will we draft more of a project in MKG or Drummond.
Not sure how we will handle free agency. Do we resign Gee for a reasonable contract? I'd like to as a role player or a bench contribuot. However, I feel like someone is going to overpay, someone like NJ. If we can't get him for a reasonable contract let him walk. That is what determines long term success. The Clippers are going to hurt long term because of that Deandre Jordan deal.
As far as Jamison goes. I only want him if its off the bench. No starting PF minutes. 25 mpg tops. We need to develop TT, and he needs as many minutes as possible.
Restructure Gibsons deal. He needs to be on a smaller contract. Idc if its stretched out and loaded with incentives. 5 mil is too much for a guy who has only really shown up twice in his career. However he still has PR value.

We are playoff bound next year. Hopefully LA crashes and burns so we can get another lottery pick

Odd. Saw a basketball team playing like it cared, and winning, in front of fans who don't need fan lessons. In Cleveland, the anti-MIA.

Re: Let's ride.......... RCF !!!
Its crazy. Jamison actually looked decent when Irving was feeding him the ball in rhythm. Without Irving's leadership and passing skills, Jamison is right back to what we saw last year... more harm than good.
Check out these shooting percentages:
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/385/antawn-jamison
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/...arkieff-morris
Jamison's horrid shooting percentages and high volume dictate that he could help a team out off the bench for 20 minutes a night... if he could still defend. As it is, he may be back on a one year deal as the Cavs wait to find a younger bigman who can space the floor. You were the one who thought psychopaths were so interesting! They kind of get tiresome after a while, don't you think? ~Christopher Walken in Seven Psychopaths

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
Signing Jamison to a slightly above market 1 year contract and trading his ass at the deadline for a first round pick would be what I'd want to happen, only reason we didn't get anything this year was because of that massive contract and the amnesty provision.

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
If you plan to tank - you will tank.
If you plan to win - you will win.
You know what Gilbert wants to do.
The rest is up to Grant, and how aggressive he can be in FA and trades. He needs to be as aggressive in FA as Unban Meyer is in recruiting for the Buckeyes.
I believe Kyrie would even help recruit FA, unlike other people.
With any luck, next years lineup could look like this:
Kyrie, Eric Gordon, Harrison Barnes, Andy, Fab Melo
That's a very young playoff team.

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
i expect TT and Kyrie to have a 2 inch growth spurt next year.. Kyrie will become the best guard in the league while thompson miraculously develop inside-outside game like dirk nowitski in the off season.. they will become the best 1-2 punch in the NBA and will dominate for 10 years.. Cavs will be 8th seed next year and will face the heat.. it will be a 7 game series but will fall short in the end which will give kyrie and tristan the fuel to become better the following year.. in 2014 they will win the championship against OKC..

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
Gee isn't fast enough to cover most SG's.
This is what I think would give us our best chance at winning. Assuming we don't get Davis.
Kyrie/FA
Beal/Boobie
Gee/Casspi
FA/TT
Andy/Melo
That's to start out the season. The problem is what happens when the injury train rolls in? Just like the last 2 seasons if Andy goes down the tank begins.

I expect a top 10 pick. Regardless of who we draft.

Re: Expectations for 2012-2013?
The Cavaliers are bottom 3 in the NBA in terms of talent. A top 5 pick makes them what? Bottom 5? Im not expecting anything in free agency or the latter 3 picks to do whole lot next year. The suspects on the roster (Samuels, Sloan, Casspi and Harris) will be back in order to avoid a monumental roster overhaul in one year. Grant may sign the next Bryant Stith that cant really play to fill the "veteran leader that plays too much" quota.
Next year will look like this year but with more rookies.

I'm expecting a Mid-to-late lottery season next year, no playoffs.
