The snow pic makes me miss living up North. Loki absolutely loved the snow. I'd throw snow balls at him and he'd try to catch them, and in general he just loved running in it.

My Shepherd has never even seen snow before. I moved here about a year and a half ago, bought the Shepherd pup shortly after, and it didn't snow a single time all last winter. I think it only dropped below 30 three or four times.

Not to disrupt the boxer theme or to be a downer, I'll post a picture of my Heidi. She died a little over two months ago suddenly from a malignant spleen tumor that had burst. She was 11, but she was in great health, spirits, and active even up until the end. We never even knew she was sick.

Best dog I've ever had. I miss her every day.

That sucks. Yeah I pretty much dread the day Loki dies, as he's been around almost every day for the past five and a half years.

Was Heidi a Rott mix?

Boxers are the greatest dogs ever to come in existence.

I dread every day the day that she dies. Im gonna lose my shit. Its my child. And she has no concept of death.. Shell just be laying around one day and then Ill take her in a car to the vet, shell look at me with her big trusting, sad eyes as I tell her itll be ok and then she'll go... Its about the most fucked up thing I can think of happening

Gymbo -- I know what you mean. My golden recently had to be put down. He was only around 7 but had a huge tumor in his belly. Biggest, fattest, most kind-hearted golden I have ever encountered... loved that dog.

That's also why I decided to get a second dog. I figured it'd help when one of them dies. I'm pretty much planning to always have two now since it seems like a good number. They can keep each other company but they're not terribly unwieldy like I feel three or more would be.

i was thinking the same thing but I think it'd be healthier to go out and get a new dog when my baby goes.. Ill have something new, and the dog that would have became friends with Dog_K wont miss their buddy
