Marshall Henderson

I've seen this before, but never to the level of hype that this is.

I went to the MTSU vs Ole Miss game earlier this season where MTSU gave Ole Miss their first loss of the season. So I saw Marshall Henderson in person. He was like 6'2 and stuck in cement blocks the way guys were blowing by him. I thought he was a walk on with how bad he was on D, and how badly his team was working to get him open shots.

I cant believe that he is featured on ESPN like he is the next best thing coming along in college bball. Well, I can believe it. I have to call it for what it is actually.

He couldnt dribble the ball twice without having to pick it up because his handle was so loose, and he was running off 2, 3 picks in order to get a open shot. They had a guy in the post named Holloway who should have been the feature of the offense, but I guess Miss coach is building for the future in making Henderson the focus of the offense.

Its just amazing to me watching the hype machine take off like this. I go to quite a few college bball games every year, and Ive seen plenty of catch and shoot guys who are featured in their offense, but this...

I understand a lot of people will be against what this kid does but in all honesty it is awesome seeing an individual have that much passion in something he does. Is it at times over the top? absolutely, but that is what makes the kid successful, personally i love it.

Maybe I was being a little too veiled.

Really, I was saying that Henderson sucks and he is only getting hype like this because he is white.

He cant dribble or defend and plenty of guys can shoot just like he can. I see his passion in players on pretty much every team in the country.

He is not even the POY on his own team. You gotta watch them to know why Im saying that.

The big guy down low, Holloway, is their best player. The guy on the ball is more important than Henderson. He hits shots, because he gets them spoonfed to him.

Noel gets POY before this clown

At least with a hype man like Wojo, you got some defense as a result of firing up the opposition.

First time I saw this guy play was the other night vs. Kentucky. Couldn't stand him. Annoying as shit..... and terrible.

Same thing here. He was acting like a spoiled brat on the court, and I was laughing at how easily Noel was rejecting his shots whenever he went into the paint. But hey, if guys like Doug McDermott (Harangody 2.0) can put up numbers and be major storylines in college, so can he I guess.

Noel's manhandling of Henderson was quite comedic, but I don't appreciate you dogging my boy McDermott.

In regards to Henderson's whole story. It's harmless fun. Ole Miss is a middling team that has a chucker with a personality. White or black I'd still be interested and watching.

He's essentially Tim Pickett from FSU years ago, but not quite as good. But even with as sensationalistic as ESPN was then, it doesn't even compare to what it has become today. Add in the TV contract the SEC and ESPN entered into last year, and you have the makings of an ESPN/SEC lovefest.

Timmy should have been able to carve out an NBA career, but unfortunately he's the type of guy whose normal shots are terrible shots on NBA teams. He needs a green light to be effective at all, and you don't have a green light as a marginal NBA player. Anyways, few people probably even remember Pickett at FSU, but he was twice the player this Marshall kid is.

He's hillbilly trailer trash...he'll be playing in a prison league in 5 years.

Don't sleep on Harangody, he destroyed the Big East for the better part of three seasons for Notre Dame. Career avg of 20 PPG and 10 RPG as a four year starter? He was a monster in college. Just doesnt have the speed for the NBA.

Exactly why I compared McDermott to him. Both are great college players without the length/athleticism to make it in the NBA.
