Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@Buster_ESPN: The Indians are on the verge of signing reliever John Axford.

Got our closer. Spend the rest of the cash on Ubaldo, and call it an offseason.

Not sure if anyone posted this yet, but Buster Olney is tweeting that the Tribe is on the verge of signing John Axford.

Can confirm @Buster_ESPN: Indians have reached agreement with FA pitcher John Axford, pending physical. More on http://MLB.com soon.

No details yet, but Axford's deal is likely a 1-year pact due to his having two more arbitration years after the coming season.

Not a big fan of an Axford signing. One good year, then two iffy years and lost closer's role. Cardinals let him go too. Not good history.

Adding another old reliever in a different role.

Jensen Lewis joining #Indians broadcast team on SportsTime Ohio, according to Tennessean

Here's your new closer :chuckles:

Well... I don't know. We will see. For a smaller deal, I love it. Want to see the money first.

Well he has the whole new league thing working out for him. Not a huge fan but if one year and less than 5 million, it is solid. Not sure he is closer for long though.

So I'd imagine the bullpen looks like this:

Closer - John Axford
8th - Cody Allen
7th - Bryan Shaw
The Rest - Vinnie Pestano, Marc Rzepczynski, Blake Wood, C.C. Lee, and Nick Hagadone (Carrasco could also be an option)

Pestano is the big wildcard. If he regains form, we should be pretty solid. Still would like to add another good arm back there.

Jensen Lewis instead of that other guy with Al? Sounds good. That other guy blew. Can't even remember his name.
