2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tate needs to prove he can stay healthy and be a feature back. I'd have no problem with an incentive laden offer.

$16M is a lot of cash, but at this point a Revis/Haden duo is worth it in my eyes.

As b00bie said before, he's gonna get paid anyway.

Sent from your nearest liquor store.

SINCE YOU'RE AT THE LIQUORE STORE, grab me a bottle of Jack.....I need it after reading that one :(

FARMER BLEW IT!
He should try his luck in cattle grazing instead.

Wow. That's disappointing. Not sure how you can let that one pass you by. But, moving on.

You let it pass you by because of the bar that it's going to set for Haden's contract. You can't have that much money wrapped up in your cornerbacks.

No one is talking about how the Browns locked up Isaiah Trufant? Or did the excitement die out farther back in the thread?

We have zero chance getting him once he's released. That's too bad, I would have rolled the dice personally. A team that's been bad like us would be making a bold statement with that kind of move. Oh well.

I mean, it is disappointing, but I also I'm not going to sIt here and fret over it. I do completely understand why they would pass up that. And I'm assuming it also allows them to add a few other of these pieces of the rumor to be interested in. who knows, maybe they pull a Houdini in sign him in free agency... but that aint fucking
happening.

The big thing is that Gordon and Cameron and, of course, Haden, will need extension. It isn't like they got skunked, they just simply didn't see the value compared to spending the money elsewhere.

Just cut him later on if you have to...

You didn't see the part where his salary, if traded, would have become a bonus? Thus spreading out his 2013 contract instead of having it all count against the cap this year? It would have guaranteed he would have to be cut next year. He will not renegotiate because he wants to be cut if the Bucs don't want to pay him. Not really a difficult decision once the bonus issue was brought up.

Of course ESPN will put the Browns out there to make Cleveland look like losers but every team that's inquired about him knows that he will not restructure, and he shouldn't.

C'mon you don't think Philly and Oak were already told the same thing as well? No team has been reported as close to acquiring him yet. Also I love how the Pats lost their best defender in Talib to Denver and the media thinks that will magicall attract Revis there. If you're Revis and your're looking at the defensive personnel on the teams incquiring about him ours is the best by far, but he's doing what's best for him and that's the right thing to do.
