Griffin said it.

Yea well that statement about seeing Wiggins as a 2 guard was a direct shot at Waiters. THat's telling you that Waiters is either coming off the bench or getting traded.

EDIT: Lost in translation I think. Was talking about the Gilbert tweet to Bennett and how I don't think that means anything as it relates to who we're building around. Just Gilbert being Gilbert.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Wasn't Gee expiring? Is this an S and T?

Well I wouldn't put much into a Dan Gilbert tweet. But I dunno what to tell ya, there isn't much faith in this league when it comes to Dion Waiters.

Maybe some teams don't have faith in Dion Waiters, but I guarantee you there are more than a handful of NBA teams that would love to have Dion Waiters on their team. He does have value.

So by trading Gee's salary for Haywards would that make it a wash essentially.

From who? Sam The Bullshit Whisperer tweets? I've put Sam The Bullshit Whisperer on my "do not care what he ever says" list.

Not sure if The Bullshit Whisperer said it but I remember reading that every time we'd be in discussions for trades, teams would always inquire about Dion. Also I remember hearing from a source that another lottery pick was made available to us in exchange for Dion.

And I know I'm high (maybe irrationally so) on Dion but many on this Forum were against trading him unless it netted us at least a Top 7 pick. Seems many value him around the league and on RCF. Maybe you just undervalue him?

I've talked in depth about what I would and wouldn't trade Dion for.

But I also understand the perception of him as a player and I'm not blind to his big, glaring weaknesses (like being a penetrating guard that can't actually finish at the rim). And however I feel about Dion and his value, I think that Griffin statement is about as clear as he can be on exactly what he feels about Dion, without just telling you flatly Dion Waiters is a bench player.

We learned a lot tonight.

Anyone who was unsure about what direction the Cavs were headed, has a lot more clarity.

Griffin was not kidding when he talked about fit. He is building this team to be very much like the Suns and he is building a team with guys who can do a lot of things on the basketball court.

He added size tonight. We drafted 3 guys and all of them were above 6'6.

We added a helium prospect in Wiggins who could be great. We added shooting in Harris and we added a well-rounded athletic big prospect in Powell.

Griffin declared after the draft that he saw Wiggins as a 2 guard if Wiggins was to achieve greatness.

It is clear that Blatt/Griffin want 5 guys out there who can shoot, who can pass, and who can run.

Initial reactions about draft:

-Very surprised Gordon went #4, but I liked him alot and it isn't too crazy.

-Still surprised Magic would pass on Exum though. Great get for Jazz.

-Didn't think Smart would fall to Celtics. Good get for them along with James Young. Celtics seem to be going rebuilding route. Rondo on the move soon?

-Why is Randle acting all pissed he fell to #7? That is about where he should go. I would have thought Lakers would trade the pick to get more vet help for Kobe in his last year or two left.

-Can't believe Vonleh fell to #9, but GREAT pick for them. Promising young pieces.

-I guess it worked out for Magic to pass on Exum and end up with Payton. Especially if they feel Exum isnt that much better than Payton.

-Nuggets killed the trade to end up with Nurkic and Gary Harris. Guess Bulls really liked Dougie.

-Loved Knicks 2nd round. Came away with Cleanthony and Thanasis. Would have loved either of those guys.

Overall, a few teams really did some nice work in this draft.

-Magic getting Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton was impressive. Good additions with Oladipo and Vucevic and Harkless.
-Jazz came away better than I would have imagined. Jazz got Exum and stole Rodney Hood. Very good draft for them.
-Wolves got Lavine, then stole Glen Rob III at #40. Solid picks.
-Suns getting Warren, Ennis, and Bogdanovic. Not sure why they need another point guard unless they feel they will lose one.
-Nuggets came out HUGE. Getting Nurkic, Gary Harris, and Jokic? Wow.
-And the crazy 76ers. Getting Embiid, Saric, McDaniels, Grant, Micic, McRae, and Jefferson. Don't even know what to say.

There were more teams that got better tonight than I expected. If you ask me NBA front offices are starting to smarten up. I wouldn't expect a lot of inexplicable moves this off season.

I think that has more to do with just how many quality players there were in this year's draft...last year, virtually no one looked good.

Except for the sixers, who just drafted an entire D-league team

Haha the Sixers did right with Embiid in a way. However they have two injury prone centers who seem to be both defense first guys, Okay I get it. Then I am think they got Payton at ten and I am saying alright a Payton Embiid could be a great combo someday. Then I see they traded for Saric and I lost it... Really? They might not see any results for any of these picks for three years. The Sixers have taken the place of the Cavs in the WTF draft moves... Their fans better hope Embiid recovers or they are doomed.
