Andre Miller/Possibilities?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ben, you don't like the player career correlations. You don't like the stats he's putting up in 15% of a season. Looks like you have your mind made up that Miller is a good addition and you don't want to look at anything that says otherwise.

However all the predictors I've looked at have been pretty scarey. If Philly manages to trade Miller, it's going to be because of his rep and his contract, it isn't going to be because he's still an effective floor general. That's just not the case anymore. It isn't very likely to start happening again either.

Thank you and goodnight.

Mike Bibby is another Larry Hughes... there's no room for more bad shooters on this team.

Huh? If by that you mean he is a better shooter from the field, a better shooter from 3pt line, and a better free throw shooter... than yeah, Bibby is another Larry Hughes.

Bibby:
Career FG%: 44.1%
Career FT%: 80.7%
Career 3PT%: 37.1%
Career eFG%: 49.1%

Hughes:
Career FG%: 41.1%
Career FT%: 74.9%
Career 3PT%: 29.2%
Career eFG%: 43.5%

It's just a horrible comparison because the two are not even close, either as shooters (see above), distributors (6.2 apg vs 3.4 apg) or as scorers (16.8 ppg vs 15.4 ppg).

They both are being overpaid and bibby is on a decline...

Bibby Last year:
FG% 40.4%
3pt% 36%
FT% 83%

Hughes Last Year:
FG% 40% (awfully close)
3pt% 33.3% (still pretty close)
FT% 67.6% (So bibby is clearly a better free throw shooter)

Not to mention Hughes is a better defender...

Not sure it's fair using Bibby's shooting %'s from last year as evidence that he is on the decline. He injured his hand in training camp last year and was wearing a brace on his hand the first half of the season...that was a big factor in his shooting struggles. His shot improved as the season went on and the injury healed. He shot 42-43% from the field and 3 point range the last three months. PPG game were over his career average. Only thing that has declined is his assists...personally I think that has more to do with his role and the players around him changing. IF his tendon heals, he'd be a great fit here.

Nov. - 36.1% FG and 29.3% 3PT%
Dec. - 38.1% FG and 22.7% 3PT%
Jan. - 41.8% FG and 35.0% 3PT%
Feb. - 42.7% FG and 40.0% 3PT%
Mar. - 42.3% FG and 42.0% 3PT%
Apr. - 42.1% FG and 44.6% 3PT%

Im not sure Ferry can wait until Bibby or Kidd becomes available any more. This team needs help and fast.

Ben said:
Bring up stats after 40 games, but this early in the season they are fools gold and I'm not feeling foolish at the moment.

Miller averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 assists during a 3-1 week for the Sixers to collect the third Player of the Week award of his career.
Miller recorded a season-high 14 assists on Tuesday in a 101-96 win over the Wizards.

In the last 37 games Andre is averaging 17.5 points on 50% shooting while dishing out 7.3 assists per game.

I have to admit I'm pretty impressed considering what he has to work with... As long as it doesn't take Gooden or we get good compensation in return for Gooden...

The one thing I would like about Miller is that he'd put both Hughes and LeBron off the ball more and we've seen what that looks like...
