Because he has cement in his shoes and would get killed on pick and rolls.Cavs need "rim protector"
Haywood is "rim protector"
Any reason he isn't getting some time? I am well aware that he is not the same player he used to be, but, he is on our roster.
Is Haywood a few healthy feet away from walking himself to the glue factory or what's his story? We obviously need a big guy to stand in the paint and knock guys on their ass once they blow by Kyrie and Love, couldn't he atleast fill that role for us? If old bones Ben Wallace could do it for us in 2010 I would imagine Haywood could be serviceable.
We don't need a 5th option on offense. Actually, I'd prefer for our center not to be a focal point of the offense because I've seen enough designed plays for Andy to last the rest of the season thus far.
The only risk that I can see is another injury that would lead to his retirement. That would kill the huge trade chip.I've never understood the resistance to playing him. He is a really tall person! He stands near the basket! He raises his hands over his head! Automatically then a huge improvement to our defense.
If Blatt was playing James Jones substantial minutes and letting Delly lead the offense in closing out games, then what possible objection could there be to playing Haywood for a few minutes a game. Can't be athleticism.
