It doesn't.If this prohibits us from making future moves, this is stupid.
Isn't there conflicting info though? People on twitter saying around 80 mil and Windy said closer to 90 mil. Kind of a big difference.
If we were going to pay him 90 mil, why not let him sign an offer sheet and see if anyone else is willing to pay him so much. I'm interested to see the details of this.
I agree. I like what he brings and I'm glad that we could keep him, but this has to catch up with us somewhere. LeBron being his buddy and all, the opposite logic is also true--he should have taken LESS to stay with his pal and compete for championships. No one else would have offered him this type of contract--therefore, we shouldn't have done it. I'd have liked him at 11-12 million/year. If he gets $13 from someone, great---we can match it. I don't see why we jumped the gun and offered this deal. LeBron was never leaving. If this prohibits us from making future moves, this is stupid.
At some point Gilbert will cut off the mad spending though right? It doesn't.
Or he signs the qualifying sheet and we lose him as an unrestricted free agent next year. If Gilbert's willing to spend, who cares? No one was going to give him 80 million. Not letting him get to restricted free agency has to be just to appease LeBron.
The new CBA should take care of that for him.At some point Gilbert will cut off the mad spending though right?
We were so far above the cap, not resigning Tristan really doesn't do anything to hinder future moves. At some point Gilbert will cut off the mad spending though right?
