I tired of people on this forum under estimating the Warriors. Remember guys, they are the champs and i see them beating the Spurs until i see them losing in the playoffs. I'm thinking the Cavs feel the same way the forum does and the players are not playing like they are the under dogs. They are cocky and not giving the Warriors their props..Its time to stop over hyping this team until they prove that they can beat the Spurs or the Warriors..

Warrior improved after winning the trophy, the Cavs regressed. They're not beating either the Warriors or the Spurs until they prove it. And the Spurs are not beating the Warriors until they prove it..Warriors are the real deal and the Cavs should play them like they never won a game before...

Exactly. That's why a 8 seed has never beaten a 1 seed in the NBA...
Of are talking about warriors mavs 07, I'd be focused on their dominance over them in the rs and their match up issues, both of which are two big thumbs down to the narrative you're pushing

Im done underrating the Warriors. They are indeed historically good. When they play the way they did the other night against us, they are unbeatable. The bulls of old, the Celtics of old, the Lakers, anything you put against them would get fried. Unbeatable.

Luckily they wont play that way every night. But theyve lost four games in half a season. The time for downplaying them is at an end. They are that good. And if we hope to beat them, we need to understand that we will be accomplishing something special.

Warriors would have fried those teams like a rice cooker the other night. Very impressive performance. Its going to be hard for me as a fan to feel comfortable about our title chances the rest of the season after that.

The whole team was coming off a loss and they looked like lebron did game 6 vs the celtics a few years back. In a 7 game series like the Heat vs Spurs in 2013 you often see alternating blowout loses like that and its still only one game. But the Warriors are going to have home court advantage and if they ever get their backs against the wall its going to take a heroic performance to defeat them.

I'm not pushing a narrative. Look, GS is good. They have one truly great player and some very good players and some glue guys. But I have a feeling they are a chapter ahead than most franchises and once defenses catch up, they can be beat.

Trapping Curry, not getting back on defense, and not going under the pick have all proven to be terrible strategies.

That reddit user who broke down the Pistons game did a good job of showing how to try to stop them. I think they can be cracked. The D needs to catch up to their chapter though.

I think the Xmas game is more indicative of how a 7 game series would go rather than the game on Monday. The Cavs are not that bad, and the Warriors are not that good. (I'm not saying they aren't good, just not the level we saw on Monday)

I'm telling you, hack-a-bogut may be our best strategy. It's an average of about 1.1 points per possession. Also slows the hell out of the game.

Wouldn't they just take him out and go small with there deadly small group

Then you hack an Iggy. And they have lost their best rim protector and rebounder. The death lineup is tough but we have time to plan for it and hopefully make a move to counter with our own

Bump.

This should be our starting matchups against the Warriors:

Curry - Shump
Klay - Kyrie
Barnes - JR
Green - LeBron
Bogut - Love

Just play straight up defense, no bullshit doubles. When they bring Iggy in for Bogut, put JR on him and try putting Love on Barnes. If Barnes kills Love, bench him and bring in Delly.

Curry - Shump (or Delly)
Klay - Kyrie (or Shump)
Barnes - Love (or JR)
Iggy - JR (or Kyrie)
Green - LeBron

Profit. The real keys here are a) Having LeBron guard Green at all times and b) Having Shump or Delly guard Curry at all times.

I don't take too much away from last night...other than Love & Kyrie absolutely cannot guard Green & Curry...it just can't happen. And I don't want to see it attempted ever again.
I still feel this is what we should do.

I found this on reddit. Basically explaining how the Pistons beat the Warriors..

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/41qzro/oc_how_the_pistons_demolished_the_warriors/

Pretty good read..

Thank you this is very interesting: in some ways what the Pistons did KCP the Cavs are trying to do with Delly (and did successfully for large chunks of the Finals). Delly has the footspeed and the drive to fight thru the screens but not necessarily the length. Shumpert would seem better as he's got more length but the Cavs may prefer again to give Thompson a hard time which he does well.

On the whole if you forget about defense and concentrate on not letting Curry bend the defense (i.e. ok if he get's his) - The Cavs may just leave Irving on Curry and have Lebron play his traditional free safety role on offense.

On offense we should be able to duplicate with the Pistons did but do it better because we can not only score from all 5 positions but also stretch the floor from each spot. Going back to Irving on Curry, when GS does the Klay on PG move, the Cavs are going to do the same thing GS does to teams and force him to go thru multiple screens chasing JR. JR needs to have a good Finals for us to win (not be NBA Jam for 4 games but get 1-2 games like that and that will be enough to force GS to honor him)

I don't like putting Shump in and TT out. Seems as if ppl forget that Shump hasn't been that good offensively or defensively this season. They've done nothing this postseason that's made me think we'll have to change oh starting lineup going into the series. If anything they should think about not starting Bogut VS us.

I give GS credit but I'll never give them too much. Flat out they've looked very beatable this postseason with or without Curry. If we sub in any guy to start it should be Delly

I think we're all gonna be surprised at Kyrie's effort on Curry. I truely feel Lue will have Kyrie on him all series.

Kyrie can play D if he has to. And you can't tell me he won't take the challenge if it's for a title
