2016 NFL Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I laugh at this every time I see it, as if Jordy Nelson was going to miraculously fix their offense, or is the key to their offense.

Unless a healthy Nelson brings back McAdoo and Philbin to call plays and reteach Rodgers proper footwork, they will continue to struggle...what happens when you rely so heavily on broken plays and flags to move the ball for so long, and teams finally catch up with you on that shit.

Not really sure why they don't work more inter mediate throws into the offense. The deep passing game just isn't there, and it seems Aaron always want to take the shot. Not only has his accuracy falling off the cliff they just don't really have the skill players either.

The play calling is pretty bad. But let's call a spade a spade too, Aaron isn't playing that well. Missed countless throws today.

They do, but he just misses the throws because his footwork is awful. Aaron Rodgers 3-4 years ago absolutely picks apart that same Cowboys defense.

I take it you watched the game today, right? How many throws did you notice Karen make either falling back or moving forward or off balance? I'd say, since I'm guessing I watch them more than most here since they are in division with my team, that 60-70% of his throws nowadays come when he isn't set.

He hasn't been legit coached since McAdoo left GB. That's the problem with them right now...just no one on that coaching staff/in that organization has the balls to tell precious little Karen that he needs to fix his shit or else no amount of changes in who is calling the plays or which WRs are healthy is going to fix that offense.

if packers would of won today it would been his 4th win against the Cowboys whereas Farve had three. it seems Packers are stil trying to prove Rodgers is better than farve.

seemed pretty petty. Cowboys wouldn't of been who I picked for Farve to be put on the wall.

I watched the game while making dinner, so I didn't take the time really to watch his mechanics in detail.

The play calling is atrocious though. The lack of running game really isn't helping.

It's not even the throws. Aaron isn't even going through his progressions quickly. He's mentally slow. Everything is off.

He's not the best QB in the NFL anymore. I don't even like or dislike him. I am indifferent about him. But he's been pretty overrated the last year in a half.

The playcalling and running game is atrocious because they abandon it the second the game gets close, which makes them predicatable. Much like I have to experience with Adrian Peterson, way too much of the Packers offense revolves around Rodgers doing everything. And when you rely on someone doing everything for you, but you don't coach them up, this is what happens.

I just hate the notion that missing Jordy Nelson last year was the problem. I had to hear that shit every week last year, had to hear countless media fucks say its the reason the Vikings won the division last year, and had to hear countless more media fucks say its the reason the Vikings won't repeat as division champs.

The problem is Rodgers, and the coaches not coaching him. No one wants to admit it though, cause precious little Karen and the Packers are the NFL's golden goose.

I wasn't honestly making the case that's why he's fallen off. I mean, we've seen Tom Brady lose all kinds of receivers through out his career, and still be Tom Brady.

Same with Peyton Manning. Maybe we just have to come to the conclusion he's just not as good as those two were (or are, Brady is clearly better than him now at age 39 even).

I'm not a Rodgers hater either. Shit, I'd drool over the idea of him being my quarterback in a second. I know you are given you're a Vikings fan, which I don't blame you.

Hell, I'm not sure I'd take him over Ben right now, and I don't have any love for that guy either.

The guy is very talented. His ability to make throws are incredible, but he comes off kinda a jackass that blames everyone else but himself.

Honestly, and I'm not trying to give Luck a free pass. But shit, is there a worse organization than the Colts? And yes, I think they are worse than us.

You get a franchise QB talent, and you're freaking ruining him. He's not developed much at all in 4 years. Their GM/owner are as incompetent as it gets in the NFL.

This is why I kinda laugh when everyone thinks all we need is a franchise QB and everything will be fine. At a talent standpoint. Luck is as good as it gets, and look what is happening in Indy?

Yikes..

That's why we need Hue to be the real deal more than anything. A great QB alone isn't going to save a sorry ass franchise. The Colts are a good example of that.

The Seahawks defense is elite at every level.

Do the Texans realize they aren't required to pass the ball let alone pass the ball twice as much as they run it (while gaining over 6 yards per carry)

The Brock osweiler experiment can't end soon enough. He's unreasonably bad at football

That's at least the 3rd Primetime game I've skipped in a row. I'll probably be watching tonight unfortunately.

I'm struggling though, outside of the Browns complete rebuild, I don't really find the NFL all that interesting anymore. Over the last 5 years I would've considered myself an NFL fan more than strictly a Browns fan. Now it's like 90% Browns and a few games here or there that have fantasy implications. Even then, I'm not exactly sweating missing those games. I'm not sure if it's the mediocre fantasy season, the injury reports becoming meaningless for FFB purposes, the horrible officiating or piss poor coaching decisions but I just can't get pumped about the NFL. Is the NFL dying slowly or is it just me?
