The idea is that signing EE now is cheaper than signing Santana next year. So the idea is that you want EE longer as a long term fill in.
 
Also, Nightingale should be taken with a grain of salt, IMO
 
There was some so called "insider" in this message board I was at saying we WILL sign EE and people seemed to trust him for the most part. Again he also there might be a trade involving one of our starting pitchers... Take this with a huge Grain of salt but he said the EE will happen.

Lol no I forgot the name of the poster but it could be a heath type again people there took him serious. The thing that threw me off is he was saying we could trade for McCutchen but we would give up a starting pitcher... Yeah.

Trumbo still in it for Rockies, Nap to Tex if we land EE that is what I think will happen assuming we land EE.
 
My boy Bernie Pleskoff hit me back up, sadly he knows much as us, he said there is no word on EE's part and his market choices are falling below expectations.

And Carter.

Baltimore has been linked to Carter and took away their offer to Trumbo.

Colorado seems to be out, but Rosenthal saying they're not necessarily out of Trumbo.

Seattle was linked to Trumbo, but that seems to have died down.

Texas has mentioned they don't have the $ in the budget to sign EE or any other high profile FA, so they seem to be out.

Toronto seems to be out, as Atkins has said he doesn't see a way.

Boston is out after signing Moreland

There's always the 2nd NL team that was (not specifically) mentioned.

I may be missing someone, not sure.
