The outside runs weren't working at all. The few inside runs we did had some success. Both Samuel & Barrett's long runs yesterday were up the middle.Never really seen Samuel run between the tackles in 3 years. Mostly took counters and sweeps.
Most of Barrett's "inside" runs were off option looks or draws. Not the war Tebow would run up the middle. I don't know that either running up the middle is the answer. Both found their best success doing other things.
Less is different than not at all.Who was asking for us to run Barrett less? A lot of people.
If Ohio State was running A all season, the fans were asking for B, and against Clemson we got C. The only thing in common was that it wasn't A.Not quite sure what this means. I am not saying they were. I am saying fans clamored for something, got what they wanted, and then gave the same arguments they started with.
Having the statistically 20th best offense in FBS is nice I guess, but we all know there's more to it than that. Consistently no showing against teams with good defenses is a concern. Either way, the offense has not done their part the last 2 years. The 2015 offense was much more than mediocre. Top 20, probably top 10 unit. Same thing this year, when you consider the year as a whole. There are definitely struggles against good teams, and they definitely regressed as the year went on. But the OSU offense is still consistently top unit.
