I was about to say Zimmer is only hitting .230 with 20 SOs. I didn't think he was ready and that is showing he is not ready for the pros with his bat. I don't think he calls for a call up this season if he is not at least at the .270 mark.
Shaffer seems to be playing well in the minors, so we shall see if he is going to get a chance eventually or not this season.
Ps. D-Wreck you can disagree with me, but until Zimmer shows he can do better, I see no point of calling him up
I just think it's really funny how adamant you are the Zimmer isn't ready
Thomas Pannone only went 4 innings yesterday, but he struck out 9, and has still yet to allow an earned run this season.
That makes for 31 K in 20.2 IP with 0 ER through 4 starts this year

Now it's the strikeout rate.
You don't have to dig your heels in on a bad take and argue for the sake of arguing.
This board is pretty well above that, unless we're just making fun of someone.
Yea @sportscoach why do you worry about a young guys BA so much when OBP is a better stat to zero in on? Especially when he has a career .370 OBP with above average speed. we should always worry about his on base threat being down, and it's not. He can create a run anytime by a simple walk and a steal.
Can care less about his average.
If you actually know me as a baseball person OBP% is very important to me, but also so is the ability to make good contact with the ball. Zimmer hasn't shown to me the contact ability, but everything else is there, so once he shows a better contact ability while cutting down on the SOs, he is ready for the pros. I have high hopes for the kid, but up to soon I feel will hurt his future. Now I am cool with a September call up since I feel he should be, but I don't want to bring him up to play everyday until he shows a bit more.
You're literally only going off a box score, don't act like you're analyzing every at bat for contact.
When this org says he's ready, he's ready. Not a single one of us know what the org sees or wants.
The argument for contact rate was diluted when he advocated for Naquin and his 30 percent rate.
Zimmer's going to strikeout, it's part of his approach.
It can be improved on, and it doesn't have to be improved upon at the minor league level.
It was a bad take all around.
I believe what I believe and could careless what ya think anymore.
